And it's a good exercise, you can learn a lot copying other styles!

Why does it have to be a fetish. Its simply a stylistic preference. I, myself, long for the days of street fighter the animated movie and Ninja scroll. Loved that more hyper realistic, super detailed, super muscled art. Besides, i think it would have been more a humorous break from the cutesy stuff. Like super serious muscle girl, LOL.

I love that old school gritty art. Fist of the north star, ninja scroll. The female characters were hella hot to me back then. More realistic, albeit more bad-ass looking. Not all of us associate anime with the sailor moon, puppy dog eyed, super long pencil legs
