I kinda cheated and used a photo reference for the base clouds. STILL so much work to do to them! :S

Mark, that's not cheating at all. You'd be crazy to NOT use a photo ref! Why make life hard for yourself!

Im just so used to drawing things without a reference that it makes me feel as though I am cheating. Im still very proud though

Yes, I can see it is a crazy face! Is maybe coz your style isn't realism -like I am TRYING to achieve, therefore I need to be very precise about everything and use reference - yeah, I'd say that's it!
