Wow. Man, I hate doing shading and things like that in comics. It just pushes my patience over the limit. You'll probably recognize that I worked really fast on this one by the ending.
Anyway, this is a scene in one of the chipmunks' many adventures in my series as adults. Simon's extremely ill, and Acorn (one of Spike's kids) told them that the only one who could help him was Merlin. Every planet with life had their own Merlin the Enchanter, just like King Arthur's. Marya has one as well, and this one is gifted with immortality, so he's been around for a long time. He's got the cure for Simon, so it's up to Alvin and Theodore (and Mia) to get him to the enchanted forest where the old hermit lives.
Alvin, of course, thinks that Merlin, being such a powerful wizard, would be living in a huge mansion filled with amazing things.... Boy is he proven wrong!
And theodore's being the simple-minded one again. I just thought of this moment and I had to draw it out for you guys.... and I think Mia came out extremely cute.
Alvin never knew that Merlin was a badger... he just spoke up his thoughts and it turned out to be right.
Oh yeah, and Merlin's colors may be inside out.
Oh well.Anywho, enjoy!

It certainly does pay off... although I wonder how long my patience will last next time I try it. XD
Alvin and Theodore had actually used horses from the palace to get to the forest where Merlin lived, but once they got there, the horses refused to go in, so they had to continue by foot. I'd say.... maybe a day and a half of carrying Simon through the forest, not to mention having to stop and fight every now and then. XD

It was a Zelda game for the Nintendo 64.....
I remember in that game, there's a forest similar to this one......

AHAHAA! This comic is absolutely brilliant! Seems to have a Bone touch to it too, as well as a personal touch. I love it! I guess what seems out of routine coming from me, I'd love to see more of these strips. It would make a great graphic novel.

I mean, the characters actions remind me a whole lot of Bone as well. And actually, in essence, the three bones kind of are the chipmunks. Alvin sounds all too much like Phoniciple, Simon's a whole lot like Fone Bone, and Teddy is smiley minus the cigar habit. 
And awesome, I can't wait to see more of these. Was this one of your "huge projects" you were talking about?

It's a simple gag, but damn it works so well XD
The shading work and Lighting work still looks great, though, even towards the end. Although i dread to think of how incredibly tiresome it must have been. Heh. Oh well. The works done and dusted now, anyway,

Indeed, simple gag's are stupidly funny at times. A TV Show i love to watch, Only Fools and Horses (Old British Sitcom, and it's still massivly funny today), only backs up the "Simple Gags are Funny" statement.
