I don't get why a lion's granddaughter is a fox when we don't get to see any other relatives to explain why. Especially since her first appearances were ambiguously feline in looks.Like Khan a lot of her looks were based on an already made redesign here: drawloverlala.deviantart.com/a…
I just wanted to experiment with how she might look as a lion like her grandfather. If I made a more serious redesign I might have also made her look younger like her official age, rather than making her as old as she looked in the comics. (Apparently she's officially around nine years old?! She looks like an older teenager.)

I checked to be sure, his name is Li Yuen. I could see that, maybe his children adopted her and at some point she ended up in his custody instead, or because of the age difference they call each other grandfather/granddaughter despite him being her guardian. Of course, there isn't much canon indication either way, but I like the idea~

Well, Khan and all of the established Dragon Kingdom characters other than the Brides were introduced by a past writer, and because of all the lawsuit business they're off limits. So the Lis are part of the group wiped from comic existence for eternity. It's a shame, but there's nothing stopping us from expanding on the ideas with theories and such.

I know, I meant them doing that sort of thing in the modern comics, they already split the comics into two stories so why not have some of the stories focus on some of the characters we've been introduced to so we can expand on the world building and not only show that Mobius isn't just that place that Sonic comes from but also give closure to any of the new characters that the fans of the series might be interested in (How are things going in Meropolis? Is the fight between Mighty and Ray against Thunderbolt going well? Who's in Lupe's new Wolf Pack? What's the story on some of the new Egg Bosses?). Just saying the worst World building is the kind where you just look at it through a glass wall.
