Boy I draw this character way too much.I tell myself "this is the last one for a while" and then I find myself drawing her again.
I'm not even a huge fan of The Sandman or anything... but I have a friend who is and I guess I've just become accustomed to drawing sketch after sketch of Death thanks to her.
I laid the color on thick with this one.
Kocked it out sometime this morning.
It's just on a little tiny piece of leftover bristol.

Laying on the colors is alright if it's done this well :joy: Her lips and eyes are just gorgous! And the anku (spelling? crickey I own one and I can't spell it) I just love the way you used two colours to make it look shaded. All in all awesome as usual, and it's all good to draw her this much when you always draw her so good

I'm not even a huge fan of The Sandman either but I loved the little 'manga' 'Death at Death's Door' and I love how Death and Delirium are in it. xD

I am a huge Sandman fan, and it's because of Death. (later Destruction too)
So, I think I understand.
There's something about her and just can't pin it down.

I just like drawing Death in a different way each time.

She does have that quality.
The symbolism that identifies her as "Death", allows her to change appearance quite a lot, and still know just at a quick glance who it is.
Different than many characters in comics (or even gods from ancient pantheons), where to get the uniform and the symbols all there to properly identify the character, it makes them look quite similar every time. Not much room to vary.
