Nice piece! I know theres a million robots out there, but you might want to take a look at old Robotech cartoons, forgot the exact name, but this guys a dead ringer for one of the alien mechs. Zendradi or something I think, perhaps from macross. May wanna mix it up a bit, will likely ring quite a few bells.

I'm going for the smiling interpretation... permanent smile like a dolphin... but a BIG KILLER ROBOTIC SMILING DOLPHIN HEADED THING (sorry--wee bit stressed out). I think he's super cute though. It's creepier when cute things are deadly... like the Stay-Puf (sp) Marshmallow Man. Or is this a friendly robot?

I really like it, you might want to divide the feet part in two though, for a toe part. Or add somekind of toe replacement.
