That's some good stuff. Looks like it would be a fairly comfortable weapon to wield and well balanced.
Only thing I wonder about is how you would sight it so you could shoot it accurately?

I was just thinking that one of the things I thought was spectacular about Mass Effect from a conceptual level is all the tech they presented was so utterly reasonable. For example, every weapon had some sort of aiming device on it and how they worked was explained. It wasn't "you have effectively infinite ammo, because we developers say so". It was explained. Made the universe they crafted seem so much more plausible, and as a result immersive, than the vast majority of sci-fi out there.
To put sights on this, all you'd have to do is put some sort of post on the front, and something to line it up with in the back (maybe even that large hump in the middle could have some sort of notch in it). Then you've accomplished the same!
Great design none the less.
