Great shot! A very gorgeous and splendid-looking insect ^^
Alas, I cannot be sure as to what species exactly your fellow is. I'm fairly certain he's of the subfamilyΒ Lamiinae, or Flat-faced Longhorns. The thing about most Asian areas is that they lack a great deal of information about their insect species :/ You sometimes get 3-4 different sites for a single American state, but little or nothing on the insects of the entirety of countries. I did find one source on Thai insects (thaibugs) but I did not find your little guy there, unfortunately :/ I will keep looking though!Β

Hi. Ive come across a very good insect (and others) website for Thailand, probably better than Thaibugs. You may already know it......

Thanks for taking a look. I went through Thaibugs but as with you found nothing. It is the head that throws me!

You're welcome Yeah, the thing is that whilst there are some common species represented, there are a ton more that aren't it seems. The head is quite big, isn't it? Quite a bit larger than the ones we get here in China

Yes, and the colouring is a bit unusual.
