Indeed. A real classic of the sci-fi film genre, and I still love it, especially since I have a DVD copy. Thank you for your comment and the fave.

Those two movies along with the animation movies of Ray Harryhausen are some of the best sci-fi and fantasy films ever made.

Movies today dont have the same kind of charm, one just has to go back to those classics to go on an adventure.

How true. Today's movies would insult the intelligence of a brain-dead orangutan, which is why I seldom go to the movies nowadays.

Yeah, most people would just see them as corny or cheesy, which some of them are but they even mock the classic ones XD

Kids today haven't got the brains they were born with. They're too busy texting, tweeting or whatever the hell they do nowadays. I can even appreciate some foreign films. Two classic movie stars from your country that I got a chuckle out of were Cantinflas and the masked wrestler/superhero El Santo.

Oh those two are legendary, Cantinflas is very funny and El Santo is a cool hero. Have you seen the wrestling women series of films? those are fun too.

No, I haven't seen the wrestling women movies from Mexico, but I may check out Amazon.com and see if they're available. Cantinflas was a kind of Mexican Charlie Chaplin and El Santo I've described as a Mexican version of Batman. Of course, unlike Batman, El Santo didn't punch out the bad guys, he used wrestling moves on them and often threw dirt in their faces, literally "fighting dirty."

Same here. When I saw the original film on TV when I was a little boy, it scared the living hell out of me. I had nightmares for a week after that. The design, the music, it all worked to perfection. Thanks for your comment.

And it was all a little boy's dream. Until he looks out the window again at the end of the movie and sees the ship crashing into the dunes.

That's what's so spooky about "Invaders from Mars," that nightmarish quality. And for that little boy, the nightmare it seems, never ends.

That's for sure. And the actor who played the Army officer sent to investigate what was going on also played the general in 'Earth vs. the Flying Saucers'. And he ended his acting career playing a judge sometimes on 'Perry Mason'.

That actor was the late Morris Ankrum. He was a character actor who made a career playing military officers, with occasional non-military roles here and there.

There was another one from 'EvstFS' who was the admiral, and he played the general in 'Twenty Million Miles to Earth', about the first flight to Venus. That also starred William Hopper who eventually played Paul Drake, Mason's PI in the series.
BTW, while selling some of my old comics and graphic novels at a local comic shop, they had the first three seasons of 'The Outer Limits'. Guess I know what I'll be getting next week when my Social Security check comes in!
