Description
There were a few places in the Conservatory that easily stood out in an Esk's mind. It could be a crook of their own, a space for themselves. It could be the Wellsprings, a beautiful place for wishes and wonder. Or, it could be one of the many unique landmarks that littered themselves through the Conservatory's vast maze.

One of these landmarks were a favorite of normal and art-inclined Esk alike. Towering proudly over the grassy fields below was an ancient Boabab tree. It stretched taller than most Esk could easily see, it's thick branches reaching high towards the crystalline ceiling. They twisted and bent upwards, stretching taller with each passing year. It had been around longer than most Esk could remember -- a towering constant, and a comfort to some of the Esk that visited it. Hanging from its gangling branches were trinkets and treasures from visitors past, swaying softly in an occasional breeze. They ranged from flags, cloths, small bags and ribbons to dried herbs and crystals -- but important all the same to the Esk that left them. The higher the Esk climbed, the more trinkets they would find. It had become kind of a tradition to some, returning every couple of years to place another piece of themselves in the trees' branches.

Along with their treasures, many of the Esk elected to leave behind something else. At the heart of the tree was a low dip, a slope between its massive branches that connected them to the Boabab's massive trunk. Inside of the massive crook were dozens of paw prints, doodles and smudges of paint -- signatures of the Esk that had once been there. Some painted in pairs, some alone, but all of them left behind brightly colored smudges deep within the tree's heart. Dozens of Esk traveled to the giant tree each day, lovingly decorating it with a piece of themselves before they moved on.
