I'm still working on the backstory, but yes. Long story short the rifle at the top is an improvement of the FA-60 designed to be lighter and less bulky, the one at the bottom is a direct development of the M1950 which competed against the FA-60 but lost the Army contract, its designed to simple and cheap mostly made of stamped parts rather than milled like the FA-60, despite its defeat during trials development continued and later was adopted by the National Guard which at the time was still equipped with large numbers of M40s and M50s, this made the transition alot faster.

More like an M14, the FA-60 would be the FAL equivalent
