Description These are my new babies

I still haven't come up with a name for them... I'm leaning towards "Frekias" after "Freki," one of Odin's two wolves in Norse Mythology.

Anywho, the blueish gray one is a male named Lokki, and the orange one is a female named Havok. I created this species because I wanted a canid/felid hybrid that combines things that I like about both families, as well as my own aesthetic touches (like how I love the big ears, bright colors, and soft coats). I wanted them to have a very Cheshire cat-like feel in appearance (Cheshire wolf XD), and the sense of being mischievous, smart, and a little bit of a pain in the you-know-what lol.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, after months of sketches, this is the final product
Lokki is very noble and serene (yes, it's ironic shift from the original "prankster" concept lol), while Havok is a live-wire (much like yours truly lol).

Currently I haven't decided whether to let people create their own characters from my species, especially since I have two more of these guys in the works that I haven't drafted yet, but I will edit this and update it if I figure that out >.<"

Anywho, thanks for viewing and I hope you enjoy my little brainchild

***EDIT: After much thought and help from the wonderful , I have decided to name this species VargkΓΆttr. This name was derived by combining "varg" from the Norse word for "wolf," and "kΓΆttr" from the Norse word for "wild cat." Thanks for all of your help and input ***

Awww practice practice practice! it will totally pay off

I knuuuw - I'm still torn on whether I should just let people go buckwild with the colors, or whether I should restrict them to a set of colors before letting people draw them >.<"""" what do you think?

I think restricting the colours is a good idea. I have members of a few species, and I like to seem more realistic. Personally I'm more "Hey you're all natural, but you may have ONE thing that's off."

Yeaaaa - I mean, they would look AWESOME if their colors were all wonky but so far I've colored them pretty naturally... the most "wacky" thing being Lokki's blue tint (which I admittedly went a little overboard on lol).

But I mean, I have 2 more of these guys in the works at the moment. The female is a "panther" type that's like a deep charcoal with barely visible black markings, and the male is a pale, "faded" type with light brown markings. I like the realistic colors, and the coloring relationship they have with the big cat family, but then there obviously isn't as much variety as opposed to having the full spectrum of colors.

Most def. I mostly like the rare bright colour to have some sort of individuality. There's only so much that can be done with natural colours, but I perfer then to be a dominate thing. 8D

Maybe you could restrict the colors but if you interpreted these certain colors like blue and a certain reddish it would create purple.but it would be a 1 out of 30 chance or something like that.Or a special marking that would glow maybe?I don't know ^.^"

Thanks! I know they're not the most original thing on the block, but once I started doodling them everywhere I knew they needed a proper reference sheet lol
