The noise is what drew him close, despite Ripha's protests. There on the edge of the flying grounds he stood looking at the huge black bird fly by screaming through it's feathers as it passed by.He watched as it landed off a bit in the distance.
Ripha protested again that he should leave it alone, but he felt that he Must go see what this new creature is.

An assignment for school, aka an inspiration piece for a short film I plan to make
and Yes their designs are highly simplified in this image, because drawing them fully scaled with detailed feathers 720+ times seems very much not like something I want to do.

I just wonder if the whole plane thing is canon to the story, aka, during the war between the avians and the humans, did the humans actually have planes and other technology this advanced, or is this just a total spin-off from the official lore?

I like how you've taken the avian design and build and incorporated it into the human jet. It really makes the whole scenario more fantastic and original. it's clear you've put a lot of thought into the avian world, which makes the whole concept that much more original and amazing. I can't wait to read the book. Its going to be one of my "must-haves".

Most of the land there is made out of crystal, (it is actually the base roots of the trees) so light does make it through the land, plus the lands are migratory, so the light isn't always in the same places in the sky.
like there is bound to be areas with less foliage, just likely not under the same extreme rules we have here on the surface ^^

It is new to them.
Specially since Avians keep their young away from any human contact if possible.

Well, sorta...
Good luck with the film, you'll likely need it. Doing a film with a camera is hard enough *cough, see my page* but doing one where you have to draw every picture by hand is likely a huge amount of work.
Still, the result is worth it, trust me.
