Description
The Romulan Warbird of the late 23rd century was a much different ship compared to the Constitution and K'tinga designs prevalent in The Federation and Klingon Empire respectively. The Warbird only had two forward disrupter banks and a plasma launcher but it was by no means a weak design. The power of these weapons was unmatched to comparable hull classifications and the power to mass ratio would not be beaten until the Defiant class was introduced almost a century later.

They typically operated in pairs and they often overwhelmed K'tinga's in border skirmishes as well as easily over coming Federation Akulas and severly damaging Mirandas. However they needed to strike quick in order to effective as they were almost useless in a sustained firefight.

The Romulan Empire would not have a ship as effective as the Warbird in its role until the introduction of the Valdore class.
