It's a Star Wars one! Yes after fiddling with some SW models I thought hell why not.The New Republic attack the Stardestroyers defending Coruscant en mass to liberate the Galactic core for the Imperial Remnant. Unknown to the NR at the time Coruscant was very undefended as Imperial Warlords squabbled over what was left of the Empire. The liberation was a huge propaganda boost for the New Republic.
Lots of stuff going on here, some assets are re purposed for this from a previous unreleased Star Wars pic I did a whilst a go. I may revisit that one, one day but you can have this for now. The Large Imperial Stardestroyer took a total of 2hr 49 Mins to render. I was amazed that my laptop didn't explode.

IIRC, the conquest of Coruscant started with the use of two ISDs captured at Endor, renamed the Freedom and Liberator, which sneaked in under false Imperial ID codes to disable the planet's defence grid. After the main Rebel fleet jumped in, it was just a prolonged mopping-up exercise; most of the Imperial Council had already fled to their respective fortress worlds and had no interested in working together to defend the capital when that might empower one of their rivals.

It depends, the earlier-model ISDs were designed under the Tarkin Doctrine which, amongst other things, claimed that the only real threat to a capital warship was another capital warship. They depended on their TIE Fighter squadrons for anti-starfighter defence and the TIE Fighter was never as effective against the X-Wing as it was promised to be. The TIE Interceptor closed the gap a lot and the TIE Avenger was even a little better in experienced hands but with enough A-Wings to smother the fighters and B-Wings to pound down the capital ships' shields, the Star Destroyer is in a lot of trouble.

Β I don't even know why the Empire (or what very little was left) even bothered. No one liked them by then, so they might as well have given Coruscant to the New Republic. The results were the same, just more people died.
Β Sadly, this historical event might not be considered canon anymore. Ah, what the hell! I'll consider EU to be Prime Canon, and the new events to be Alt Canon!!!
Β And I'm surprised that a laptop could even handle that sort of thing! I haven't tried 3D modelling because it already complains when my Illustrator files gets to big!
