Description Father's Day art.

I would've loved to be able to make a doodle dump about that Deltarune scenario I pictured a few years ago with Asgore being Lancer's adoptive dad, but sadly that will have to wait until somewhere later this year. It will happen, tho, I promise.

Instead I opted to make a single piece about something I recently got into.
Shingeru Mizuki's GeGeGe no Kitarō, which I always saw pictures and stuff around when I see stuff about the history of manga and anime, but haven't looked more into other than seeing picture of that weird kid that looks like Tim Burton's Chris Griffin.
It wasn't until I discovered Go Nagai's Dororon Enma-kun, which is also about a supernatural kid fighting evil Yokai monsters, and I was reminded that Kitaro also existed and so far I only managed to read all the manga stories I could find online but I wish I could watch episodes of each anime adaptation (Kitaro basically gets a new anime adaptation per decade since the '60s, the latest one came out in 2018) it got because it looks so fascinating and endearing.

Anyway, the story of Kitaro is that he's actually a ghoul child, born after his mother got buried, and "Daddy Eyeball" (Medama-Oyaji) is all that remains of his father who was deteriorating from an unique illness, and from sheer power of love he turned his eye into this anthropomorphic spirit to look after his living dead child. It's so fucking weird, yet oddly touching.

Medama-Oyaji's role is looking after Kitaro and teaching him everything he knows about the Yokai they come across, he gets VERY emotive if something happens to his son and his favorite activity is having warm baths in teacups, and he has a voice youtu.be/99BhxlhLhY0?t=126 that provokes an emotion I can't fucking describe. Goddamnit I need to find more stuff about this brand, I'm surprised none of the anime were ever dubbed in Italy along with a bunch of other titles the people born before me grew up with, it feels like something that'd be popular and sell.
...On the other hand, after I looked more into Dororon Enma-kun I IMMEDIATELY understood why it's pretty obscure while Kitaro stood the test of time better XP

If I can, I'd like to do a bunch of crossover art between Kitaro and Enma, they're pretty different despite the similar premise and they'd clash hysterically lol
