I know, it's kind of a weird, pms-induced picture, but I didn't want it going to waste. I put a lot of effort into it for some reason and it turned out excellently. So anyway...

When I was watching Batman Begins, I came up with a pretty neat idea from Cillian Murphy's performance.

He actually wasn't Scarecrow, but one of his students from his college class. In his backstory, it's revealed that Scarecrow isn't actualy from Gotham, but Georgia. He ended up in Gotham because they had the most access to chemicals.

Now, this student wanted to follow in Professor Crane's footsteps, but also wanted his family to be safe, so he simply stole the name of the man he idealized, Dr. Jonathan Crane. It would have been easy, seeing as a man can disappear for seven years, be pronounced legally dead, and then magically come back and claim all of his assets. (Srsly, Gotham's notary office must really suck.)

The real Professor Crane, having discovered his name was being used with others like a mob boss like Valconi, became quite... upset with his former student, and came to Gotham once again to make sure he'd learn his lesson. Permanently.

idk, kinda strung together, but it's a neat idea to think about. Kind of an Elsewhere thing, but eh. I like it.
