this is my entry of tails and cream at the beach in their rubber rings having fun oh its for the contest because its summer soon we had to put them in a summer themeoh by the way this is my first pic i have used photoshop myself so if its crap thats why

i was going to say that Zachary covered just about eveything. but if you want a tip with drawing on photoshop i can help seeing as thats what i had to do when i had no scanner. its easier to use the straight line tool and go over all the lines that way cuz its a b**** trying to draw curved lines with a mouse.

Alright, since you asked for help, I be giving ya a few pointers here. I'm not bashing or intending to hurt, so I just thought I'd clear that up first. Plus it's really cute so I 
- The waves shouldn't be so choppy when they're hitting the beach - you've rendered them perfectly, and it almost looks painted really nicely...but they'd be rather more still at the bachside. And maybe they could be foamy where they hit the beach - you know, when the have white fringes?
- I think maybe the colour for the sand could be a little paler - it's too bright a yellow, but it is shaded very nicely ^_^
- By the way, do you have a scanner? Usually if you ink a picture in and scan it on a 'line art' setting, you get better results - you're just going to give yourself a hard time drawing over things/ drawing on the computer in general.
- Maybe it's just me being wierd, but the horizon looks a little diagonal to me.
- The sun could do with a reflection in the water and probably be a little rounder - try to be a little more confident, since you obviously have talent - keep that hand steady! It might look nicer with a little glow too.
- Thicker lines in general for the whole pic would be nice. And a varying line weight is usually very appealing too - unless you're going for a particular style such as the Sonic X style where obviously thicker lines are inadequate.
- The sky is fine, I wouldn't change anything with that.
- As for the chracters themselves - they're really cute and well-done! Cheese could be a little bigger though, da liddle bebbeh.
All in all, I'd say you have a lot of skill at your disposal - try practicing drawing circles and rounded objects until you can do them perfectly and steadily, and you'll be able to harness what is your true potential.

Hey that's nicely done, but tail's well...tail is a little shreded at the end.

Oh. Well, Tails'...tail is white at the tip. The orange part is jagged (like you drew) but the very end of his tail smooths out so that all the lines at the end of the tail meet. So orange (jagged) and when it gets to the end it becomes white and that part isn't jagged, but the two end of the "jaggedness" come together to form the bushy white part at the end. Hmm, I hope that makes sense.

Darn forgot to add, that is not a crap attempt at Adobe and in total honesty its far better than my first try.
