it's true, almost everywhere I go, when ever people insult one another, one of 'em just has to say "autism" or "autistic".
IΒ did this one earlier because as one with autism myself, I find it rather frustrating that people can't be mature & think of any other insult to throw at somebody (not that they should be insulting each other at all)
it's like they don't know that autism is a real learning disability & they treat it like it's no big deal

When people use "autistic" as an insult, they're implying that they believe being autistic, something that people have no control over, is something to be ashamed of. It's the same deal with using "gay" as an insult.

moving on's probably the best thing to do. at times, i too roll my eyes followed by a "oh God", & very rarely ask (but think to myself) if they even know what autism is. but when i do, in short, they tend toΒ act like they're somehow an expert on the suject & yet they use the word in the wrong way.

it's actually been a thing for years now (maybe longer) & i still can't believe people are still so stupid enough to use it wrong. if it were a trend, like every other trend it would've died out completely by now, & even sometimes after that (which is a damn shame as most trends are either better off dead or better not existing at all).
