I wrote up a great description for this a moment ago, but when I hit submit dA puked on my connection and so I lost all that I wrote. I'm angry, hungry, and disconcerted by having to use a 56k modem to upload all of my images, so here comes the grumpy artist statement...Basically, I wanted to talk about the Palestinian occupation in this piece and how imbalanced it is between the two warring factions. One side fights with rocks and the occasional suicide bomb, the other attacks with military police, tanks and Apache helicopters. The Jews claim divine right to the real estate which they previously owned 1500 years ago, while the Jordanian-immigrants as people like to call them say they've lived there for centuries and were de facto owners of the land. It's a terribly messed up issue which will probably never end until genocide takes root. Because the tragic loss of innocent life on both sides doesn't seem to phase the near fanatical rage that both groups have toward one another.

if you are brave enough to fight for your land with only rocks then surely this tells you who values the land more. It is true they only fight with rocks but even the biggest most advanced weapons can never break their will. Americans call them terrorist but no one is there to wittness or report the heart breaking things the israel's do to us..what we do to them is just but a fraction to what is done to us. so if being a terrorist means this so be it .

That's what good illustration should be about! But not everyone believes what they see and hear on the news.Ever heard of a online comic called Spiders? I'll post you the link when I find it. It deals with the problems in the middle east and Afghanisthan in a truly witty original thought provoking way, well worth a visit .

Thanks. If I could do anything different it would be to add a more interesting background or render the gun from a more threatening perspective--it seems a bit to flat to me to have the kind of impact I wanted with a weapon.

Thanks. I think the Palestinians could use more support, for certain, but I don't think that Israelis should be left out in the cold either. There are plenty of people just trying to make a life in that region on both sides, and would rather see the conflict just end. Unfortunately the crazy people speak the loudest
