Description
This was made for my own ironic sense of amusement. I went to my local CVS with my mother and the receipt printed out. As always, we got a good two feet of savings coupons, and the first thing that crossed my mind was that if they stopped giving us money-saving coupons that expire within two days, they could, instead, save a tree or two that have no real expiration date.I then spent the next five minutes convincing myself some secret society would send ninjas after me if I gave into the urge to snatch the cashier's pen and scrawl at the bottom of our two foot receipt "Have you hugged your tree today?"

Hah, wow. I know how you feel, I used to work at a CVS and it always made me cringe when the receipt would print out extra supper long with 7+ coupons, maybe one of which the customer would actually use. What was even worse was when they'd do some sort of stupid, "add your e-mail" promotion and an extra, coupon-sized piece of paper would print out with each receipt. -.- So much waste.
Staples isn't any better, though, all these stores and their receipts, every time a rebate prints out, there's at least two feet worth of receipt, three papers I need to staple together.
On the upside, if it helps you feel any better, CVS did start selling $1 re-usable, paper-less, plastic-less bags, and offered extra money back for using that bag, and a lot of people are going bag-less now-a-days, whether by bringing their own bag or by buying those $1 totes.

Yeah, I know CVS isn't the only store that does the miles-of-receipt thing. It's not the only one doing the $1 bags thing, either. Although, I can't help but somewhat snicker at Walmart trying the $1 bags. Every time I see them, I just imagine someone trying to reuse ones they had gotten from there before every time they go grocer shopping. if my family did that, our cart would be half full before we even started because we'd need to bring so many of those. XD

I hugged my tree today.
It was a skinny tree covered in brambles. Painful tree.
