Description
Program used: Rhinoceros 4 w/V-ray for RhinoClassification: Standard/Enhanced Tracer Round
The Tracer (TRx) is a round that has a small but bright electro-luminescent diode inserted in the rear of the bullet that allows you to see the path the bullet takes in both night and day. This is helpful to aid in automatic fire as seeing where the bullet travels allows you to make easy aim corrections. It is also common to have fire teams or full squads using the same color tracer to help tell who's on the team and what they're firing at, this method is not perfect though as the enemy targets may use the same color or get their hands on one of your weapons, on top of that it is possible for the rounds to give away your position.
The tracer rounds come in a variety of flavors: red (TRR), blue (TRB), yellow (TRY), orange (TRO), green (TRG) and purple (TRP) colors are available. There are also two special tracer rounds with added ability.
The Delayed Radiance tracer (TRD) has a white color and turns on only after it has traveled 50m. This feature is great for better concealing your position.
The Special Image Only tracer (TRIO) is a round that doesn't give off any visible light but instead gives off a host of non visible signals such as infrared and near infrared among others and can only be traced visually by special imaging.
The shell casing is made out of Nano-polymer 239 that is colored grey with added light grey and various colored stripes, this plastic is much lighter than brass and other metals that were previously used for casings and it is incredibly strong easily taking on high pressure loads.
