Back in August my friends got me to join their D&D group. Came as no surprise I chose a Dragonborn character. Was a bid of a surprise I chose Bard as the class. I've also never played D&D before. And honestly I wish I had gotten into it earlier because I freaking love it! I'm also at the most disadvantage because it's a MTG-based Planeswalker campaign and I know nothing about MTG. But that also makes it easier to be chaotic neutral since I don't know the backgrounds of a lot of NPCs (Sync may or may not have kept yelling at Karn to take off his cloak in a really suggestive manner lmao)
Here's a bit of background on Sync (it was initially rushed and thrown together because I couldn't think of a decent backstory):
Name: Norixious Synkronix ('Sync')
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Age: 24
Height: 6'4"
Weight: 230 lbs.
Background: Adopted by the Norixius clean as a hatchling, she grew up into a strongly leaning Tiamat worshipping group.
One year a traveling troupe passed through the Norixius lands and left Sync mesmerized, wanting more. It also left a decent dent in the troupe's numbers as they were mercenaries sent to kill the leaders of the Norixius clan, and were promptly burned alive.
At 14 she left the clean to pursue life as a bard after showing an affinity for music and storytelling, as well as charm that allowed her to gain quite a silver-tongue and bad reputation among local Dragonborn.
A year later she returned to the Norixius only to be banished and hunted down after a failed attempt to steal one of the finest treasures of the clan, a dragon scale said to be from Tiamat itself.
Fun Things:
- She's become kind of buddy-buddy with our Kenku rogue, Knives, in that Knives will give food he's stolen to Sync so Sync can keep helping protect Knives. Sync is a bit stand-offish to Knives in this manner and just appreciates the food.
- When being told about being Planeswalkers, Sync's only thing to agree to being one was to ask if she could have the magic chair she was sitting in. She now has a Fantasy IKEA chair that's super comfy and can become pocket sized.
- She's had the same half-eaten croissant in her pocket since the start of our campaign.
- Enables bad behaviour of other party members.
- In the most recent session, the party was looking for the Black Lotus. It turned out to be surrounded by Phyrexian goo which touched part of Sync's foot. Later, when they got back on their airship, the ships captain asked if anyone touched the goo. Guess what you should do? Touch the goo! So we had a fun time of everyone holding down Sync while we argued about having her leg amputated before the Phyrexian stuff turned her into an abomination. Thanks to our Dwarf cleric, Sync only lost a bit of a toe. And then we had to find a putrid leech to get the rest of the stuff outta her leg. The leech got too excited (thanks shitty constitution roll) and started chewing a bit on Sync's leg after getting the poison out. So that was fun.
- Has yet to try flirting with things that should not be flirted with.
