Description made this cute little sequence where a magician asks for a volunteer from the audience so he can perform his next trick. A young man steps up onto the stage and faces the magician who then takes out a pocket watch which transforms the ma into a cute bunny girl. I had a grand tome coloring this and I hope people enjoy it. The original drawing can be found here:

Please do more like this! It's so adorable! Perhaps with characters from Alvin and the Chipmunks? Amazing work!

has only done one other tg sequence:

fav.me/d6qb2ss

I almost considered coloring it but it had too many individual drawings for me to tackle inking then coloring. He has told me he is working on another sequence, and if it is not too long and he thinks he would like me to color it I would certainly take it under consideration. The sequence I did color was fun and had a good experience with it.

As to Alvin and the Chipmunks? Sav8197 has not done anything like that to the best of my knowledge. I do know Rabbette has a gallery of Alvin and Simon cross-dressing, and have colored some of those. None of it is magical transformation, but the ones I have colored do look an awful lot like they have become girls. Come to think of it I really have not seen magical transformation of Alvin or Simon really turning into girls. Sonic and Tails turn into girls, but not the chipmunks.

Possibly, but does have fairly decent taste when it comes to bunny girls.

Awesome original drawing, and I love the coloring work you added to this, Kim! The subtle changed to the hair color, the transparent colors of the swinging watch…and the always lovely highlights and shadowing you use to bring pictures to life. Fantastic work, dear!

I love your darker rich tones you bring to your artwork. I tend to favor the lighter more playful side of colors, but sometimes I wish I had your talent that can bring out the raw primal emotions. Still, the important thing is we have fun and we each play to our strengths.

The bit with the watch was simple but I did have to keep track of the percentages of transparency in order to pull it of for consistency sake. I thought about doing some blurring but I felt that would be mistaken for the watch going extremly fast back and forth. When I saw the result of what I did do I was actually quite pleased it worked out better than I thought it would. ^^

Funny little sequence there! That magician reminds me a lot of Alex Louis Armstrong from Full Metal Alchemist.

I wanted to play with something cute and cartoony. This drawing fit the bill quite nicely. Now that you mention it the magician does have the body type and facial features of Armstrong. I kinda pictured him being annoyed with people constantly bugging him by asking him questions like, "Hey with muscles like yours what are you doing entertaining crowds with cheap tricks?"

The magician slowly puffs on his cigarette and sighs, "Judge me by my muscle do you? You think a big strong guy like me is only good for being the house bouncer! Well I got news for ya! I can do real magic. I'll prove it! You, the guy with the attitude. Come up here and I'll change your life or I'll give you your money back guaranteed."

The young man smirked, "What are you going to do magic dude? Pull a rabbit out of your hat? That would so impress me not."

The magician simply replied, "I have something different in mind for you, but it is funny you should mention bunnies."

Well, that is how things played out in my mind anyway, ^^Β

I just thought the magician was evil, and decided to turn dudes into rabbit-girls, so he'd have a never-ending source of assistants. He's kind of got that evil look to him. Now that I think about it, he looks like the face from that scary hidden screen in Sonic CD.

I suppose he could be considered evil. I think it depends on what he actually will do to those he transforms. We only see the end of the change, not what happens after. He could have changed her back to a guy after a bit of time. After that he might continue with variations of the spell turning other members of the audience into animals. Or he could be evil as you say, we just do not know. Personally, I like the idea that he wanted to teach a heckler a lesson because it might have been his first time in front of an audience. He could well have been a bouncer with that body of his and this was his big break at becoming more than just a tough guy. I think his big problem, if that is the case, is not knowing how to interact with people in a warm and fuzzy way because he never learned how. Just theories, any and all opinions can be valid points.

That's true, art is open to interpretation. Whatever the case may be, I really enjoyed this pic. I've always been a sucker for magic shows and hypnosis, so that's probably why.

I gotta admit, that Not-Armstrong guy must be a pimp. Guy can turn anyone audience into a member of his personal magical harem. I wouldn't mind being theΒ volunteer from the audienceΒ when he performs that trick

Think about it for a moment from his perspective. The ability to change people into whatever he or they might want. Someone with that kind of power could literally set up a practice that would put most plastic surgeons out of business. He'd have more money than he could possibly spend. He'd have wealth, power, and women naturally attracted to that sort of thing, so much so that he wouldn't have to bother creating them for himself. Unless you were trying to buy out the Playboy Empire (which is possible) you wouldn't be performing as a magician in front of an audience three times a night on the Vegas strip. No, I think he has some desire to connect with people on stage as a performer even though his body language says otherwise.

Interesting, so he's not a bad guy, he just does it as a business. That's something pretty interesting, I like that concept. I kind of like the idea of a character who transforms other people, as a way of connecting. I've covered that a couple times in my story, and it's a really unique idea to go over. I think I like the idea of temporary TF or TG better, because it allows for better character development and all that.

From a story perspective it takes a character who everybody automatically thinks is a bad guy simply because of the way he looks and the kind of power he possess. Deep down all he wants is to belong, become a friend to someone based on who he is on the inside, not for what he can do for you. I think that's why he looks somewhat sad. All that power and potential but nobody sees as someone who could use a simple thing like a hug. I don't know, it is always easy to think of the big tough guy as a villain. A big guy like that who really is a teddy bear on the inside is something nobody expects. That is a character worth reading more about.

Monkey-Scientist In reply to Kimbawest [2013-12-10 23:26:00 +0000 UTC]

I honestly like when tough and mean looking characters are shown by their sympathetic and more realistic inner-self. Like how in FMA the first time you see Armstrong you think he's gonna be this tough and merciless force, but he ends up just being a big muscly doofus who likes to show off his muscles. The best way to write a character, is like what you said. Playing against type is the pinnacle of writing, mostly when it comes to anything. A character you can't predict is going to be far more interesting then one you can.

I did briefly consider brown hair, but it made me think of Ataru (from Urusei Yatsura) with a bit of extra facial hair. I suppose if he had been turned into Lum I would have transitioned the hair from brown to green. I think I went with ginger because it looked cute when he became a girl. Also it was easy to see the gradual change from that to blonde. I am glad you liked how the colors turned out.

In the thread above I have been having a conversation about whether the magician is evil or not. I have been advocating that he wants to connect with people but just does not know how. People treat him like some big tough guy out to do no good, and when they find out he has real magical powers they shun him and fear him. It was suggested he takes men and turns them into bunny girls to be part of his act and to be something of a sex slave. Now you can make an argument for that, but it makes the character rather predictable by playing to the stereotype. I would think if he wanted money, power, and women falling over themselves to get to him that he wouldn't be a performer. I say he'd make alot more money charging people about what plastic surgeons charge. He could buy or create his own Playboy Empire if he chose to instead of doing three shows a night at a Vegas strip.

I kinda think of the magician as somebody who could be a good man despite his power and tough guy image if only given a chance. What if after the show the new bunny girl goes back stage to go to a dressing room to put on some regular clothing. Before she is able to a big burly man grabs her claiming she was never a boy, that is whole thing was a fake. The girl struggles, but is helpless. The Magician sees this taking place and freezes the man on the spot, and then changes him into another bunny girl that is about the same size as the first girl. The magician presents bunny girl 2 to bunny girl 1 as an invitation to finish the fight, now that the playing field is even. Bunny girl 1 grins, cracks her knuckles while bunny girl 2 looks nervous that she is about to be pummeled.

If you went with the above suggestion I would say that bunny girl 2 not be hypnotized. She should be well aware about what she did and just why she is going to take a beating. You don't have to show the actual cat fight (bunny fight?) but it might be nice to see bunny girl 2 in a crumpled heap on the ground while bunny girl 1 either hugs the magician and he actually gives a smile and hugs her back.Β

oh lol the funny thing its that i actually never wanted to make the magician a bad guy XD i just give him that look cuz i didnt want to make a generic looking magician and yeah your theory makes sence i guess it must be feel very lonely at the top haha

and wow your idea its very good, i already had something else in mind, but i might use your idea for later cuz seeing 2 bunny girls fighting would be very funny XD
