I was reading a newspaper when I came across this article entitled, "Potter turning kids to satanism", bemused as I was to this bizarre title, I read the article. Every couple of minutes I could be heard saying "seriously, what the hell" or soething to the same effect. I mean come on they must be deluded or something because they must have been seeing something in Harry Potter that none of the other 6 billion people on the planet were. Just so you know, I have absolutely no problem with religion or anyone having a religion. I am indifferent, my way of thinking is "if you want to have a religion, or believe in God or Allah or Brahman or any other God then by all means do so". If this deviation causes any offence to anyone, then I sincerely apologise, I was just reading the article and found it funny, I mean they are fighting against a book!Related content

Gosh, I just found out one of my friends bought the hp books just to burn them. What a waist of time, paper and money. Did I mention time? My church told me I couldn't go to a trunk or treat when I was like, ten when I dressed up like Hermione for Halloween because 'It was too scary' and yet they let the guy dressed up as the grim reaper costume hand out candy! grr.

LOL, I don't understand why some overly religious people see these books as blasphemism, I mean, even if they were blasphemism, they're just books. And yeah, I read an article where some crazy christian people said that the books where blasphemism because it's about a wizard named Potter, and they say that "potter" is a word for God because he makes stuff! X_X Come on! A lot of people are named Potter, are all of those demons?! XD LOL, my friend's dad is overly religious, and he hates Harry Potter, it's so weird, I don't understand what they have against it, it's just awesome fictional books that has nothing to do with demons or blasphemism. I agree, it's a completely insane concept, they are criticising the idea of magic, suggesting that it will corrupt children, despite the fact that they will grow up to realize it isn't real, as opposed to criticising the heaps of innuendo laced subtly throughout the story XD I think that may just "corrupt" children a little more XD

XD I mean, it's a fictional story about fictional characters, and these characters, none of them are performing anything that has anything to do with satanicm, I don't see where these overly religious people get those ideas from! X_X And yeah, when me and a couple of my classmates read that article, we were like "What the?!!!" And besides, even if they were doing some kind of satanicm stuff, it's not real, it's just fiction. And I've read this book where someone where doing satanistic stuff, but that book has gotten no criticicm at all, so why does Harry Potter get criticicm?! X_X (That book with satanistic badguys I just talked about had the lamest ending ever =/)

No, I've never read Twilight. Gonna watch the movie, though. So no, that book wasn't really like Twilight, it was just some crap about someone who got warped into an elf world, and then he was kidnapped by demons and stuff. It was actually really exiting at first, it seemed like such a well-structured story and all, but then they ruined it with that crappy ending! It was like, when all of the demons attacked the palace of the elves, suddenly it seemed like the writer of the story just had to hurry or something, because it just ended with that they defeated the demons and went home. The whole ending was at like... three pages or something, it was lame. =/

LOL, I don't know anything about Twilight, except that my friend Marie is obsessed with it and keeps trying to make me read those books, as well as making me read Lord of the Rings, which is more than a thouasand pages, right? 0_e Well, yeah, the story in that book was well-structured and exiting, but then they ruined it with that lousy ending.

XD yeah, same with a couple of my friends and my sister. some of them love the books and the others really don't. I got sick of them debating the subject, so I read them just to find out what the hell they were talking about XD I guess the books aren't that bad but sparkly vampires? that has just single handedly butchered every vampire legend in existence XD
I haven't acually read LOTR, I want to though. odd that I haven't since I'm obsessed with the films, or maybe that's just Aragorn XD *rapidly changes thought processes before drooling can ensue*

LOL, I don't think I'm gonna read Lord of the Rings, they're a bit too depressing for my tastes, so it really annoys me that my friend tries to force me into reading them and she keeps saying that all the other books I read are crap. =/ LOL, sparkly vampires! XD Seriously, I've heard some things about the vampires in those books, they're not like the traditional vampires at all, it seems more like that the author just wanted to make super-people or something, because they're beautiful, sparkly, incredibly strong, incredibly fast and immortal. The traditional vampires, inspired from the Dracula-story, are just pale, red-eyed, evil, with sharp teeth and a weird accent. To me, those vampires in Twilight seems more like something the author made up herself, instead of the traditional vampires, she should call them something else, but whatever. And no offence to Twilight-fans.

A lot of them have special "gifts" too, which are supposed to be rare, however, of the 25? vampires she describes, about 18 of them have "gifts" SOOOO rare XD

She becomes a vampire in the fourth book, after almost dying through delivering Edward's baby. (oh crap, there's another spoiler XD) but seriously, half-human, half-vampire baby, wtf? and the child has a gift too, yes, VERY rare XD
Bella's gift was kind of harbouring when she was human. She was the only human who could resist "mental" gifts, like Edward's thought reading and it was recognised as a shield when she became a vampire.
