Thank you so much for the feedback. I do tend to be kind of timid with shading. Figuring out where to go darker and by how much is tough (I also struggle with use of line weight on sketches) but I'll keep working on it. Feedback like this is really helpful -- thanks again!

Ah, you're welcome! Values can be hard to figure out, but you'll figure it out the more you practice! Especially since you're doing portrait studies with high contrast lighting, that's a good way to go.
