This was just a quickie 10 min sketch, so don't judge it harshly! XD;;

I think the reason behind it is very clear. The girl looks very pretty and attractive ..She reminds of a girl I saw on Game of Thrones.
I don't think fixing the hand would be that important

Huh... judging by the fact that he's inside a giant building, I think he'd have had to already be small. In other words, not recently shrunk. π: 0 β©: 2
I mean, if he shrunk, you'd think he'd be really tense, and looking over his shoulder all the time like he's in a horror movie. And it'd be really hard for a giantess to sneak up on someone like that.
So I think he was perfectly relaxed, just walking around the place until BAM this happened.
Maybe he was shrunk from birth. Maybe he's a midget. Whatever the case, he's got a giantess on his hands. Or he's in a giantesses hands - I'm not the one who makes up phrases like that, so Iunno. But who is it? What kind of person just goes to pick up a tiny person without them knowing? Either a very rude one...
Or someone who knows him. My theory: It's his sister who's a total jerkwad because SHE KNEW HE WANTED TO GET STUFF DONE TODAY BUT NOOOOO she had to kidnap him and... uh.
Uhhh. What is she going to do with him? The almost pouty eyebrows make it difficult to tell, but

But that might not even be it. Heck, maybe he was shrunk, and his first thought wasn't "whelp, I'm gonna die now" but instead "oh MAN would you look at the size of that
But then why wasn't he sticking to the walls? Maybe he figured she was gone, so he was home free to escape.
But why would she capture him in the first place? I don't like the clichΓ© "i'm a giant you're a tiny you're helpless so i'm gonna kidnap you now" thing, so that's not it. Maybe she's some freaky scientist lady who found him too fascinating to let go. Maybe she was a friend. Maybe I'm using the word "maybe" way too much. Italics too.
Alright. Here's my final, definite look on it:
The guy is merely a figment of her imagination. The part of which contains innocent thoughts and past reflections. Since she was a little girl, she always imagined her guardian angel to be a man in a black coat. At this moment, many years since then, life was tumultuous, and it was hard for her to get her bearings. She was being swamped by extra classes, a new job, family troubles, and various personal issues that caused her to get frustrated and irritated quickly.
One night, she had a dream where all her inhibitions formed into one mass, a giant monster of self-doubt, paranoia, shame, and anger. Before it could swallow her whole, she found herself back in her childhood home. She hadn't seen it in years; since the move. After listening to both the monster's roars and her own screams, it seemed to be even more deafening in the quietness of it all. Empty, just like the void of her hope.
She heard tiny patterings 'round the corner.
... In all the years, he'd grown small and barely noticeable, but she still immediately recognized him. When she reached out to grab hold of him, he looked shocked as if he didn't recognize her at first. After a second, he smiled.
Her hand made contact, a light went off, and she woke up feeling much better.

Especially your final, definite look. Holy crap (lawl, I typed "holy carp" at 1st) I want to see this brought to life or animated or something. Which...kinda happened when I read it...but you know what I mean! >o<
