Guess who discovered the burn and dodge tools today?Meh. I'll play w/ this technique, but dunno if I like it or not.
Poor Clara. I so rarely draw you smiling. =X
And what the heck is going on here? I mean, I know the answer but...*lazy arm flail* too much to type. -.-

Google tells me a tween is a kid btwn the age of 9 and 12. But I'm weird and call kids btwn 12 and 15 tweens, for you are not a real teen w/o a driver's license at 16 imo. Anyway, I find tweens annoying b/c their demographic wears "team jacob" and "team edward" shirts.

Pfft. *copy and pastes what I told someone else to preserve my claims of laziness* And bear in mind she's like, 11 here.
She snuck off to spy on human kids in the park, and came across a giant blue plastic easter egg under a bush. As soon as she got it open, older nezumi kids that had followed her shoved her inside and closed it to "teach her a lesson" for sneaking off and left her there. She screamed, pleaded, and kicked at the sides of her prison, but to no avail. After awhile, she managed to get a small crack in the side of the egg, but cut her hand in the process. She pressed her mouth to this tiny opening in an attempt to suck in cool air from outside, for the pleasant afternoon sun was becoming less pleasant by the minute in the confined space.
It was just after the hour mark, when she was dehydrated and weak from crying and futilely fighting, her prison was lifted upwards. For a brief second, its walls contracted and the top half was pulled clean off with an audible "pop". Not a second later, she was dropped just long enough to let out a short yelp before landing on a soft, but firm surface. After blinking several times against the blinding, natural light, her vision cleared and eyes widened. Was she looking up at her savior, or the danger she had been warned of her entire life?

So do you have preference on how the art trade is colored? I really only have 3 modes. This style here. This style with lines. And then my usual like "the princess and the pea" type of coloring. Or should I just do whatever? =3

Hehe. Burn tool is used to make colors darker, and dodge makes them lighter, so I used them for shading here.

The dodge tool can be used to lighten the values of colors in a certain area, while the burn tool darkens XD at least that's my basic understanding, I use the tools, I just can't think of good ways to describe them.

I'm going to spam you with tutorials, I'm surprised that you didn't know about these life savers! [link] (this one is shading_>[link] and this one is coloring its just from the same person [link] ) ok and more shading tutorials [link] ok and another tip NEVER and i repeat NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (i cant emphasis this enough) use BLACK or WHITE to SHADE/HIGHLIGHT. Unless your background is a black room then fine but try to avoid using white unless its a white room (even then i would use a light yellow). Take a color from your background environment, if your over the ocean, yea you may see a gleam of white on you skin from the water but you also see blue in your shadow SO USE IT! Black and white are very powerful (and boring) colors, they tend to detach your character or what ever is your main focus from the environment when you shade with these. Know how to use your black and white! if you shade with blue use yellow to highlight, use that color wheel and when you shade with one color use the color opposite the color wheel to highlight.
