At first I thought the gray figure (a dead loved one, apparently) and gray splotches resembled an ox's head... Was that intentional or am I just seeing things?
Anyway, this is a very impactful picture. Your use of color to convey emotion is excellent, but I think the girl's skin shows that you've got a great understanding of value and how things look in real life
