This would sorta ruin any economic system, since it would be just as good for you to do everything yourself if everyone else could do just as good a job.

Communism would eventually result in money not existing at all (the original idea of it, not the one that a few countries tried out, those were more like prisoners being made to perform community service), so technically it would still ruin the economic system, since everyone would just share things that looked like they were fished out of a garbage dump (since the ponies wouldn't know it was crap they now owned).

Not even kidding, when I watched this episode, my reaction to the whole...re-education bit was "Burst through the door and throttle that mare with my bare hands" when I remembered that this was the TV show and not something in FO:EQ.
