Not far away, Estemorah sniffed the air, and widened its eyes, as it caught my scent, coupled with the blood on my arm. It gave a wicked grin that unnerved me to no end, then reared down on all fours in pursuit. I let out a helpless squeak as I tried to get back up and run, only to fall down again from the aftershock of soaring in the air. I heard Estemorah stop right before me and give out low pant-like growls as it took the sight of me in. The Beast snarled, satisfied at its handiwork. I closed my eyes, hoping that it would all be over quickly. I thought about my life in the Surface, I thought about the life I was just starting to live, I thought about Goliath. At least I got to see the Legendary Monster G before I passed. But any second now, I’d be Estemorah’s dessert. Any second now…

That’s when I heard a loud crashing sound, like that of thunder, and Estemorah giving a shocked yelp. I blinked my tear-filled eyes as I saw… Goliath ramming Estemorah’s body like an angry bull. The Green Beast tumbled to the ground, sending dirt and grass crashing around it. I looked at Goliath, his posture was tense, and his expression was angry. This was the angriest I’ve seen him been in the time we’ve met. His teeth were clenched, and he was growling like a mad dog. I snapped out of my trance when he glanced in my direction, his expression was stern. He gestured towards the jungle just behind me, no doubt to hide from the upcoming conflict. Not wanting to direct his anger towards me, I complied, using the last of my strength to stand up and duck behind some trees, keeping me out of sight.

Content with my obedience, Goliath turned back to Estemorah, who was getting back on its feet. It shook off some residue dirt and glared at Goliath for having the audacity to ruin its hunt. Goliath unfurled his wings, and stood to his tallest height, in an attempt to intimidate Estemorah, who was sizing up Goliath as well. The two Beasts paused, their hate filled glares never faltering. At last, Goliath threw his head back and roared as loudly as he could, Estemorah following suit. I had to hold my ears so that I didn’t go deaf. Rage in full effect, Goliath and Estemorah charged towards each other and clashed, the noise echoing through the grasslands.
