I was inspired by Earthbaragon 's minimalist posters for monster movies. I have a few more planned.
Update, I've some changes to based on feedback I got Earthbaragon. I hope no one minds the changes.

Now this works really well. Its clean and uses almost the bare minimum colors. I think the only there here I would try to work on, is the text. It shouldn't be really touching the bottom of the page. It has a lot of character with how you designed it, but it needs to have a little breathing room at the bottom. Also, since it is a poster...the dimensions should probably be at the aspect ratio of what you did with your blob one. Make it taller than wider.
But you had a really nice concept though
