Hail!A little late this one, it's done as one of the alternative covers for Issue #6 of Damnation Crusades. Remembered spending 2 working days on this piece, kinda rushed cause I usually take 3 days to complete a cover art.
Was trying to do an action piece with the Dreadnaught since I had achieved a still mood previously. This time the ancient leads the main assault for the Templars.
With Thunderhawks screaming overhead and drop pods raining death onto the enemies of the Emperor. The assault begins.

It's the angle of the picture that i find breathtaking. You can capture both the high level detail of a particular unit and yet still get the scope of the battle raging in the background.

Even in death he still serves.
And, sweet gods, this gives the 'assault'-y feeling that a picture of a multi-ton blood-soaked war machine piloted by a half-dead hero should give.
