Description WAAARRRGH!!

When I was given the job for a cover art to "Blood and Thunder" #4, I immediately thought of the epic battle in "The Battle for Rynn's World". Oh man, since than I knew, "I gotta do a piece based on that...... maybe I should start establishing a Crimson Fist chapter too "

And right now I'm assembling the first squad of assault marines as I'm uploading this

Unfortunately, this is my last cover for the Warhammer 40K comic series (for now... I hope)

It's been a blast! Now I'm a BIG time fan of Warhammer and 40K, have been reading their novels non stop and enriching myself. I do hope by diving into their world through the novels I could come up with better works than what I have produced so far.

I would like to thank Boom Studios and IFS for giving me the precious opportunities to work on Warhammer and 40K. Greatly enjoyed myself in the process and I hope you guys enjoyed these works too!

Until than,

The Emperor Protects.

Inspiring work sir. Have you read any of the Horus Heresy novels? I'd recommend those, as well as any of Graham McNeil's books. Also, the Ciaphas Cain novels...hell, scratch that, read 'em all.

Great job! I do hope that you continue to do pieces like this in the future. It's rare to ass an artist capture the gritty feeling of 40K so well. Keep these up!

The novels are top notch, every time I read a Gaunt's Ghosts novel I have to break out my Guard army again.

Awesome job on this cover, that is a ded proppa Warboss is I've ever seen one. Nicely done, I hope this isn't the end of your 40K art days, really enjoy em.

Reading Gaunt's Ghost omnibus now, 'The Founding' is just a page turner. Giving me pictures in my head, truly inspiring.

There's not a bad one in the whole series, some of the battles are just epic.

I love the texturing on this, it makes it very gritty and real. Great work, and I'm glad you're reading the 40K novels. Try Dan Abnett, he writes some of the best 40K books.

Oh yah, Dan Abnett rocks. His Eissenhorn omnibus is amazing, just finished reading 'Brothers of the Snake' and 'Legion'. He is definitely one of my favourite all time writers.

Cheers!

The E.Omnibus was disappointing. The end was somehow predicatible.
Plus I don't like how Eisie was always able to deftly dodge incoming laz rounds and such, like he was spider-man.

If you liked Eisenhorn, be sure to pick of Ravenor, too.

Hahah, that'll be next. Still waiting for his Omnibus, hear say there's gonna be a face off between Eisenhorn and Ravenor novel, by Dan Abnett too. Just rumors, but if that really happens, it'll be an awesome read.

I hadn't heard that rumor, but that would be one awesome book. I'll keep my ears open. I've heard that he's going to write a book of short stories about the fringe characters in both series. Harlon Nayl, Kara Swole, etc.

Wow, very nice. I just have one complaint, that the humans (?) head is strange somehow. Maybe a bit small too imo.

KatonChidori In reply to JeenyusGraphics [2008-06-02 09:50:11 +0000 UTC]

Well actually its rather in proportion to the body. The reason being is none other then the 'Amazingly fat tanker power amour. And suposeably Space marines in 40K are super humans (DNA enhancing or something) so there able to wear the 6ft think amour. Unless it is out of proportion and my eyes are gone weird...

The art its self in amazing though.

Space Marine heads are smaller that normal proportions due to enhanceing of the rest of the body. Good thing that it is smaller, harder to hit this way.
