Prologue
“They always say the world is unfair…
They always say the world is not such a happy place…
They always say the world is unbalanced…
They always say the world is imperfect the way it is…
A lot of people say a lot of things in their miserable lives. It wasn't always like this however.
There was once a time where the world was fair and square…
There was once a time where the world was a happy place…
There was once a time where the world was all in balance…
There was once a time where the world was completely perfect…
It was all thanks to the great and mighty Mortis, creator of the sculk. With the use of his creation, he made a perfect world where everything was in peace and prosperity with each other. There was nothing that could destroy this Utopia. That was this way until a race known as the sculk dragons rose to power and rebelled against Mortis and the sculk. By banishing the sculk, they undid all the solutions that their deity resolved for them.
Enraged, Mortis now knew he had to get rid of the sculk dragons in order to free his creation. So, he sent his own avatar to do his bidding. Many mortals know this avatar by their common name, the Bane of Souls, but others also know them by a different name; the Crimson Death. The Crimson Death went from civilization to civilization, slaying every dragon in his path, one by one. They continued on their genocide, until when they reached the last thriving civilization. Before they could accomplish their goal in driving the sculk dragons to extinction however, a higher being of darkness stood in their way. There was then a huge battle between them that shook the world, an epic fight between two mighty warriors, all for the fate of a traitorous race. Blood splatter after blood splatter, the two challengers continued this duel until eventually, the Crimson Death was vanquished. Despite their failure to achieve their goal, the sculk dragons still disappeared without a trace from the world they resided in.
Thousands of years later, the ancient cities of the dragons still remain all over the deep dark. Without their people to watch over them, the sculk managed to break out and spawn in the cities, but still remains truly imprisoned. Because of this, it has not been able to spread on its own like it used to. Instead, it only spreads through the presence of any living thing that dies near its catalysts.
Now as the new Crimson Death, it is now my duty to find a way to break the sculk completely free and bring back peace to this world. The great unbalance shall soon be over.
