Chapter 8: The Battle of Earth and Dark

As the group made their way up the third story, they noticed something strange. It was quiet. Too quiet.
“That’s strange. This is the first time we’ve heard it be this quiet.” Bonnie said.
“I know, right?” Envy said. “It’s a little unsettling.”
“You think it’s because we’ve murdered most of the illagers?” Siss asked.
“Either that, or they’re probably evacuating just like the villagers.” Sombra answered.
“Guys, look up ahead!” Envy said as she pointed at something at the end of the hall. Up ahead was a master door with seven colorful keyholes on it.
“A door?” Siss said.
“This must be the throne room.” Bonnie said. Envy then examined the keyholes on the door.
“Wait a second…” she said. “Sombra, the keys!” Sombra frantically handed her the seven keys from across the mansion. Envy then placed each color into its respective keyhole and turned all of them. Just then, the door clicked and opened in a mysterious pattern.
“Huh. I knew there was something else important about those keys.” Sombra said.
“Now let’s go kick that son of a bitch’s ass!” Bonnie said. As the group walked in, the room was dim, with very little lighting. The flooring was also made of stone. “God, it’s so dark in here!” Bonnie said. “How can this guy even see?” Suddenly, the door shut behind the group, startling them. As this happened, a green light then started shining behind them. They turned back around and saw Lord Drax sitting on his throne with the Earth Pearl still in his scepter. He had an eyepatch over his still bloody eye. The pearl brightened the room in a green glow.
“Well, well, well.” Lord Drax said. “Look who decided to show up. The sorcerer’s pet and her band of weaklings.” Envy grumbled at that comment.
“You’re gonna pay for what you've done to Ivan and the entire village, Drax!” Envy yelled.
"Yeah, you're a dead man now!" Bonnie yelled.
"You've lost your army, now you're about to lose your life!" Sombra yelled.
“You’re gonna go boom!” Siss yelled. Terrance clapped his fists together.
“Oh, you little naive children.” Lord Drax sighed. “You really don’t understand the possibilities this gem could hold.”
“What exactly are you planning to do, Drax?” Envy asked. Lord Drax then sat up and walked slowly towards them.
“You see, us illagers have been left to rot for many years.” he explained. “With this gem however, can finally step out from the shadows, end this war once and for all, and bring order to the Overworld!”
“So you’re saying you want to take over the entire Overworld?!” Siss asked.
“Yes, that is exactly what I want to do.” Lord Drax said. “Create a peaceful world ruled by a mighty empire.”
“Peaceful?!” Bonnie cried. “You call destroying innocent civilians' lives and homes, taking everything for yourselves, and enslaving other monsters peaceful!?”
“You’re f**king insane!” Sombra yelled.
“Hey! Your villager friends are the ones that treated us like sh*t!” Lord Drax yelled. “So now, it’s time for us to return the favor.”
“Ok, now he’s really starting to piss me off!” Bonnie said as she cracked her knuckles. She then pulled out her netherite twin bow and pointed it at Lord Drax. “Come on, guys! Let’s grab that scepter and smack it across his face!”
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Lord Drax laughed. “Do you really think you can stop me from creating the perfect empire?”
“Yes we do, motherf**ker!” Bonnie said.
“She’s right! We’re never alone!” Siss said as she pulled out her fire whip and climbed onto Terrance’s shoulders.
“We always watch our backs and work together!” Sombra said as she pulled out her netherite lightning rod.
“And so, we’re going to stop you!” Envy said as she drew her netherite sword.
“AAAAAHHH! Enough!” Lord Drax yelled. “Fine then. If perishing under the hands of the earth is what you want so badly? So be it!” His eyes glow green as stone stalagmites burst out of the ground around him.
“Darkrune Defenders, attack!” Envy shouted. The Darkrune Defenders all charged at Lord Drax. As they all dogpiled him, Lord Drax then created a shockwave that sent them flying all over the room. Bonnie stood back up and used her netherite twin bow to shoot at Drax. Drax grew more stalagmites to deflect the arrows as they came near. He then leaped into the air and tried to hit Bonnie with a downward swing from his scepter. Bonnie dodge rolled out of the way as Drax landed. She then shot her twin bow once more at him. Drax spun his scepter, deflecting the arrows. He then fired arrows of his own at Bonnie, but these were made of stone. Bonnie was struggling to avoid the arrows as they flew at her. Drax then smacked her with his scepter, causing her to fall over.
“Fool.” Lord Drax said as he raised his scepter in the air. But before he could do anything, Sombra zapped him with her netherite lightning rod. Lord Drax yelped in pain as the shock wore off. He then saw Sombra.
“Urrg! You little brat!!!” he yelled as he tried throwing boulders at her. Sombra teleported all over the place as the boulders flew after her. Eventually, the boulders stopped. Sombra stopped teleporting.
“Ha! You’re gonna have to try harder than that, jackass!” she shouted. Lord Drax grew furious as he summoned a huge stone hand over her. Sombra looked up and saw the hand ready to smash.
“Ok, nevermind then.” she said before teleporting away as the hand fell. Lord Drax looked around to see where she went. Sombra then appeared behind him and fired her corrupted beacon at him. However, Lord Drax blocked the blast with a wall of stalagmites. Sombra stopped shooting the beam. “Ok, not cool!” she said. A stone hand then picked her up and threw her across the room. As Lord Drax watched Sombra in amusement he then noticed the flaming board that was about to fall on him he quickly rolled out of the way. Soon enough, he could see that the throne room and the rest of the mansion was on fire. Just then, Drax was smacked in the face with a fire whip. He grunted in pain as it happened. Terrence then picked him up and smashed him back and forth before throwing him against the wall. Lord Drax looked up as saw Siss riding on her netherite golem. Siss then gave another crack of her fire whip and smacked Lord Drax in the face once more. Lord Drax then summoned a bunch of stone golems around Terrance and Siss. Lord Drax gave a sinister chuckle as he watched them grow surrounded. Just then, the stone golems melted away as purple fire appeared from under them.
“What?!” Lord Drax yelled in confusion. Envy then swooped down at him with a burning sword and kicked him in the face, causing him to fly like a football. Lord Drax stood back up after he crashed.
“It’s over, Drax!” Envy said. “Your base is destroyed, your armies have dwindled down, your prisoners have been freed.”
“Over? Heh! I think not!” Lord Drax said. He then charged at Envy with his scepter in the air and swung it at Envy. Envy blocked the scepter with her sword. The two swung at each other for 30 seconds until the others came and attacked Drax at the same time. Lord Drax hit the wall in exhaustion. The group celebrated over the team effort they pulled off. At this point Lord Drax had enough. He then thought it was time for his enemies to witness the true power of the Earth Pearl. The girls then watched as a massive stone suit formed right in front of them. “This ends now!” Lord Drax yelled through the suit. Sombra fired her corrupted beacon at the suit. Lord Drax used the suit to grab the corrupted beacon and smash it. The beacon then destabilized and released a powerful shockwave. Outside the mansion, the villagers saw a beam of light blast through the roof.
“What is going on in there?” one of the villagers asked. Back in the throne room, everyone was lying on the ground. Envy looked around and saw Lord Drax standing in front of Sombra.
“Pathetic.” Lord Drax said. Just then, Terrance jumped onto Lord Drax’s suit and started punching him. Lord Drax tore him off his face. “You know what? I’ve had enough with you!” Lord Drax yelled before crushing Terrance in his hand. Envy gasped as she saw the netherite giant get crushed like a tin can.
“Terraaaaaaaaaaance!” Siss screamed in tears.
“Shut up!” Lord Drax yelled as he threw a rock at Siss. “As for all of you, I’m going to do something that I should’ve done a long time ago.” That was when all of their armor and weapons started floating over to Drax, completely disarming them. Lord Drax then saw Envy. “It was Envy, right?” he asked as he slowly walked up to her. He then picked her up with a tight grip. “You really thought you could defeat me?” he asked. “Well guess what? You were wrong! I am the new god of this world! And you…….Like I said, you’re nothing but a weak, unskilled, naive CHILD!” Lord Drax clenched his right hand into a fist as he laughed like a maniac. But before he could deliver the blow, something strange happened. As Envy’s life flashed before her eyes, she suddenly became supercharged with a strange dark energy. As the fist came to collide with her, Envy punched the fist into chunks of rock. She then bursted out of Lord Drax’s grip and bashed his suit in all directions at a very fast speed. This went on until there was nothing left of the bulky suit, but Lord Drax himself. Envy then punched Lord Drax in his good eye. Drax then crashed into his throne, dropping his scepter. Lord Drax trembled as he took out his teleporter and tried to flee. Envy flew towards him at incredible speed and twisted his wrist. Lord Drax yelled in agony as he felt his arm break. Envy grabbed the teleporter and accidentally threw it into the destabilizing corrupted beacon behind her. Lord Drax watched as his teleporter disintegrated into the beacon. "That was a mistake, child…" He said, weakly. As soon as he said that, Envy turned around and noticed that the beam of the beacon was now emitting waves that was distorting the space around it. The beacon then went supercritical as a rift opened from inside the beam. Inside the rift Lord Drax then attempted to stab Envy with a pocketknife he kept for safekeeping, but Envy then grabbed the pocketknife and used it on him instead. Lord Drax groaned in pain as he felt the knife stab his liver. Envy dropped him. “Who even are you?” Lord Drax said, breathless.
“We’re the fricking Darkrune Defenders, b*tch!” Envy said.
“Ah.” Lord Drax said before he collapsed in a puddle of blood. The rift behind Envy then began to suck the world around it. Outside the mansion, rocks and trees were being pulled in by a strong gravitational force. The villagers tried their best not to get sucked in. Back in the mansion, Envy couldn’t find her friends anywhere. She had no choice but to flee. As she tried to fly out however, a rock hit her in the stomach. Envy screamed as she was sucked into the rift. As the rift closed, the corrupted beacon then exploded in a sonic boom, destroying the mansion. As the sun rose, the villagers stepped back on the grounds of what once was the Illager Imperial Base.
“They did it!” Mayor Victor cheered.
“We won!” one of the villagers cheered. Everyone started to celebrate.
“Wait, where are those nerds anyways?” one of the teens asked. The villagers searched everywhere, but their heroes were nowhere in sight. However, they did find Lord Drax’s scepter with the Earth Pearl still embedded inside it.
“Guys, there’s the scepter!” one of the villagers shouted. Mayor Victor took the scepter and stared at it for a few seconds.
“We need to keep this safe. This thing is too dangerous to fall into the wrong hands.” he said as he yanked the pearl out of the staff.
“What do we do now, sir?” One of the villagers asked. “Where will we live?”
“We’ll have to journey into the unknown.” Mayor Victor answered. “We might either find another civilization or even a place to start a new one. We’re all in this together.”
“What about the scepter?” one of the villagers asked. Just then, another villager showed up with something in their hands.
“Sir, we’ve found this in the rubble.” the villager said. It was Terrance’s head. Mayor Victor looked at the pearl and then at the head.
“Hmm, I think I have an idea of what we could do with this.” he said. A few minutes later, they found the remains of Terrance’s crushed body. They then reforged it back into its original form. As soon as the head was put back on, Mayor Victor inserted the pearl inside of the chest. Veins of green light spreaded across the body. Terrance then reopened his eyes in a green glow.
