Chapter 12 - The E.F.S. of Winter

Boom! The ground shook, waking everyone up. Envy bursted out of her room in alert.

“What’s going on?” she shouted.

“Something fell from the sky!” Bonnie yelled as she ran down the stairs.

“What?” Envy said. Everyone was staring out the window.

“There. I saw it land that way.” Bonnie said as she was pointing at the window. “Should we go check it out?”

“Out there!?” Siss cried.

“Yeah, what’s the problem?” Bonnie asked.

“What’s the problem!?” Siss repeated. “It’s really dark out there!”

“So?” Bonnie said.

“We could get hurt.” Envy said.

“Yeah, it’s not safe to go out there in the storm. Especially when it’s night time.” Andrew explained.

“I don’t care.” Bonnie said. “I’m not a person who sleeps anyways. Now I’ll be right back, I’m gonna see if I can make a bow with that demonite stuff.” Later, Bonnie made a demon bow. Before she could walk out the door, Siss gripped her arm.

“Bonnie, please. Don’t do this.” she pleaded.

“Look, I’m bored, ok?” Bonnie said. “I feel like checking this out.” She then looked over to Envy. “Envy,  if you wanna find something to do, stick around. I’m going to find out what this thing is.” Bonnie yanked her arm and walked off into the rain.

“Bonnie, wait!” Envy shouted as she reached her arm out. Simon then put his hand on her shoulder.

“Envy, no.” he said.

“We can’t just let Bonnie wander off into the darkness by herself!” Envy said. “We have to go after her!”

“Ugh, fine.” Simon said.

“I’m coming too!” Haydn said.

“And so am I!” Wart said.

“Sorry, Wart. But you have to stay here. It’s too dangerous.” Simon said.

“Awwww! God dammit!” Wart complained. 45 minutes later, Envy, Siss, Haydn, and Simon followed Bonnie’s tracks, all the way to the snow biome. When they entered, they caught themselves in the middle of a blizzard, making it hard to see with just their torches. Simon had no difficulty since he had night vision.

“God, it’s so cold!” Siss said, shivering. Eventually, the group started hearing Bonnie yelling.

“Hey, that sounds like Bonnie!” Haydn said.

“Let’s go!” Envy shouted as everyone pulled out their weapons. When they reached the source of the sound, they found Bonnie getting attacked by these floating meteor heads, in front of a meteorite that crashed.

“Come on!” Bonnie yelled at the meteor heads as she shot them with both her musket, and demon bow. Haydn threw one of his shadownite hammers at the meteor heads, and killed all of them. The hammer then returned to his hand. Bonnie turned around to see the others behind her. “Oh, hey.” she said.

“Bonnie, are you alright?” Envy asked as she approached Bonnie.

“I’m fine, thanks.” Bonnie said.

“Please don’t go by yourself again.” Envy said. “We could’ve lost you again.” Bonnie thought about it for a moment, and then she spoke.

“I’m sorry, Envy.” Bonnie said. “I was just bored, and I wanted to do something fun. I promise I won’t do it again.”

“It’s ok, Bonnie.” Envy said. “Just don’t put your life at risk again.” Envy then turned her attention over to the meteorite in front of them. “What is that?”

“I don’t know,” Bonnie said “but I think it’s a meteorite.”

“Everyone, out of my way!” Siss yelled as she ran towards the meteorite.

“Siss, wait! It’s really hot!” Bonnie yelled. Siss stopped in front of it, and put her hands out. There was a brief silence.

“Uhhhh. Ok then.” Bonnie said in a stubborn voice. Just then, Simon noticed a man lying in the snow, a few meters away from the crater.

“Hey, look over there!” Simon shouted as he teleported towards it. Everyone approached the man.

“Oh my god, is he dead!?” Siss screamed in horror.

“I don’t know.” Simon said. Envy then tried to feel the man’s pulse.

“He’s still alive,” Envy said “but he’s really cold. We have to bring him back to the house, immediately.” Just then, a hooded figure in a furry coat teleported right in front of the group. Everyone was startled and readied their weapons as the figure jumped and put their hands up. Their eyes can be seen glowing as well. The figure then looked at Envy strangely, as if they recognized her. The figure then removed the scarf from their mouth and the hood from their head, revealing their face. Envy put her hands up to her mouth.

“Envy?” The figure said in a female voice.

“Sombra!” Envy and Siss yelled at the same time. They all hugged Sombra, causing them to fall to the ground.

"Where have you been?" Envy asked.

"We were so worried about you!" Siss said.

"Don’t worry, I'm fine." Sombra said. "It's so good to see you though!"

"Hey." Bonnie said.

"Bonnie!" Sombra said.

"Glad to see you alive." Bonnie said.

“Same to you.” Sombra said.

“Bruh, I’m already dead!” Bonnie said. Sombra then noticed Simon and Haydn just standing there.

“You made new friends?” Sombra asked Envy.

“Yeah.” Envy answered. “On the right is Haydn, and on the left is Simon. (He’s a sculk dragon by the way.)”

“Huh. Very interesting.” Haydn was just standing there with his face all red as he stared at Sombra. Suddenly, a thought came back to Sombra’s head. “Wait! We have to get out of here now!” she cried as she teleported back on her feet. Envy and Siss stood up.

“Why, Sombra? What’s wrong?” Envy asked. Just then, a breathing noise echoed from the dark forest.

“What the hell was that?” Bonnie said nervously.

“It’s too late! He’s coming” Sombra said in fear.

“Who’s coming? Who?” Simon asked. Just then, Simon’s sculk sensors vibrated as he detected vibrations coming from the forest. The breathing noise then echoed again.

“Everyone, hide!” Envy cried. “Haydn, grab the body!” Haydn stopped zoning out.

“What? Oh, right!” Haydn said as he picked up the unconscious man, but when he tried to, the man slipped into the crater, up close to the meteorite. “Nooooo!” Haydn yelled quietly. The ground started to vibrate from the footsteps of whatever was approaching.

“Just leave him there! Come on!” Bonnie whispered, hiding behind a glacier with Siss. Haydn then went to go hide with Sombra, who was behind a huge pile of snow.  Envy and Simon were hiding behind a rock. From out of the darkness, Deerclops came stomping in as he swiped the trees in front of him. He then made the same breathing noise from earlier. Haydn peaked from behind the snow pile.

"What is that thing?" Haydn asked.

"I don't know, but it has been chasing me ever since I came to this area." Sombra whispered. Deerclops looks left to right.

“He looks kinda fluffy and cute though.” Siss whispered.

“Yeah. Maybe he’s friendly.” Envy whispered. A penguin then waddles over from the right. Deerclops spotted the penguin. He stomped towards the penguin and froze it. Siss now had a terrified look on her face. “Ok. Not friendly! Definitely not friendly!” Envy yelled in a quiet voice.

“We definitely need to get out of here!” Simon murmured. Suddenly, Sombra accidentally stepped on a stick on the ground, creating a loud snap as it broke.

“Uh oh.” Envy said. Deerclops turned in the direction where he heard the noise and then roared. He then stomped towards the snow pile and swiped at it, causing it to collapse. Haydn and Sombra looked up to see the one eyed beast standing right in front of them. Deerclops raised his hand as he was getting ready to attack. Before he could impale them with ice spikes, Sombra teleported away, while Haydn dodge rolled out of the way. Deerclops looked at Haydn. Before he could attack him again, Bonnie shot Deerclops with her demon bow. Deerclops saw Bonnie and roared as he started to chase her.

“Oh shit! Run Siss!” Bonnie yelled as she ran. Siss ran in a different direction. Bonnie switched to her musket and started shooting at Deerclops while running. Before Deerclops could get any closer, Siss summoned a finch and a slime to attack him. This caused Deerclops to stop chasing Bonnie as he tried swatting the minions away. Siss then ran over and started hitting him with her whip. Deerclops tried to freeze Siss, but he missed. Envy then swooped in and slashed Deerclops in the back with her swords. Deerclops roared in pain, grabbed the finch and the slime, and yeeted them. He then looked up at Envy to see her flying in the air.

“What’s up, Clopsy?” Envy shouted. She then taunted him by shaking her butt at him. Deerclops became very mad and roared loudly. At that same moment, shadow hands manifested around Envy and tried to attack her. “Oh god.” Envy said to herself. Envy managed to dodge all of them. Deerclops was then hit by a white magic bolt. He turned to see Sombra wearing a wizard hat and holding a diamond staff.

“You leave us alone!” she yelled. She then fired another magic bolt at him with the staff. Deerclops roared and started throwing chunks of ice in the air at her. Sombra was able to dodge all of them by teleporting. Haydn then saw Simon swinging his Excalibur sword at Deerclops from behind. Deerclops then chased after him. Haydn then threw his shadownite hammers at Deerclops. At the same time, Bonnie shot another arrow at Deerclops.

“Hey! Over here!” Bonnie yelled. Deerclops roared and went after Bonnie.

“Thanks.” Simon said.

“You’re welcome.” Haydn said. “Hey, can you give me a lift?”

“Sure. How come?” Simon asked. Bonnie and Siss attack Deerclops at the same time, while Sombra is teleporting around, firing magic bolts at him. Envy is also swinging her ball o’ hurt at him too. Deerclops eventually got a hold of Siss. Before he could do anything Haydn yelled from up in the sky while being carried by Simon.

“Hey!” Haydn yelled. Deerclops looked up at Haydn. “Now, Simon!” Simon dropped Haydn, and Haydn stomped on Deerclops’s eye, causing him to roar in pain. Haydn then attacked Deerclops with his shadownite hammers and Simon dived in, slashing Deerclops in the torso with his Excalibur. Deerclops was knocked back. Everyone was in utter shock.

“Where did you say you got that sword again?” Envy asked. But before Simon could answer, shadow hands picked him up and threw him really far. “Simon!” Deerclops then got up and froze Siss. He was now glowing purple with a red eye and a huge cut across his torso.

“Siss!” Bonnie yelled as she fired her musket at him, but the bullets had no effect. Deerclops picked her up and threw her at a tree, causing her to fall apart.

“Bonnie!” Sombra yelled as she fired magic bolts from her diamond staff, but no effect. Deerclops summoned ice spikes from below her, but she teleported. The same thing kept happening until she was grabbed by shadow hands. Deerclops then put his hand together and smashed Sombra into the ground. The shadow hands faded away. Haydn then tried to hit Deerclops on the head with his hammers, but Deerclops grabbed him and froze him in his hand. He dropped him.

“Haydn!” Envy yelled. Deerclops then stomped towards Envy. Envy tried to attack him, but it was no use. Deerclops could not be killed. Envy was then barraged by numerous amounts of shadow hands.  She was too weak to fight. Deerclops then grabbed her with both hands as he reverted back to normal and opened his mouth, getting ready to bite her head off. Before he could, however, Simon flew in from behind and stabbed him in the back through his chest. Deerclops then roared in pain and collapsed. Envy then saw Simon wielding the Excalibur with blood on it. “Simon! You’re ok!” Envy cried.

“Of course I am.” Simon said.

“Uh…Thank you for saving me.” Envy said.

“Don’t mention it.” Simon said. He then grabbed Envy’s hand, helping her to stand up. There was an awkward silence at first as they both blushed. Envy laughed nervously, but then she remembered her friends were injured.

“My friends!” Envy said as she gasped. She ran over to Sombra who was still stuck in the ground. “Sombra! Sombra, are you alright?” Sombra then teleported herself out of the ground, sitting down.

“Gah! What happened?” Sombra asked as she rubbed her head.

“Oh thank God!” Envy said in relief. “Bonnie!” she said to herself as she ran over towards Bonnie. Simon then walked up to Sombra, putting the Deerclops treasure bag in his inventory. Sombra then looked up at Simon.

“Simon, what happened?” Sombra asked.

“That deer thing is dead.” Simon answered.

“That’s good to know.” Sombra said. “Wait, where are the others?”

“Well about that…” Simon said in a grim voice as he pointed at Haydn, who was frozen in ice.

“Oh my God!” Sombra said in shock. She got up and walked over to the frozen body. “What happened to him?”

“It looks like that thing froze him.” Simon said.

“I hope he’s ok.” Sombra said as she picked Haydn’s frozen body up and put him in her inventory. Simon then remembered about the unconscious man in the crater. He teleported away and teleported back to where he was standing, holding the man over his shoulders.

“Let’s go.” Simon said. They walk over to see Envy kneeling in front of Siss frozen in place. There were tears in Envy’s eyes.

“He got Siss too!?” Sombra said in despair.

“Envy, it’s ok. We can take her to the nurse and unfreeze her.” Simon said.

“She was the first one to find me.” Envy whined. “And now look at her!” Sombra then walked over to Siss’s frozen body and picked her up.

“Envy, we have to go. Did you find Bonnie?” Sombra asked.

“Yes, she’s in pieces in my inventory, but she’s alright.” Envy whimpered. She then got up and wiped her tears away. She saw Simon holding the unconscious man over his shoulders, and then turned over to Sombra. “Did you find Haydn?” she asked in a sad voice.

“Yes, but he’s frozen as well.” Sombra answered. “He’s in my inventory right now.”

“Let’s just get out of here already.” Envy said, still upset. “We’ll go back for that meteorite, tomorrow.” Everyone grabbed onto her, and they magic mirror out of there.
