Spoiler alert, but then again y'all probably know cause its been around Da and tumblr for the past few hoursSo the other day information about the new stevebomb was leaked straight from san diego comic con, and the internet finally learned who sardonyx is: a fusion of garnet and pearl
also revealed were 2 episode synopsis for two of the episodes, once of which contains Ruby and Sapphire returnning for a rather crazy episode.
So rather than drawing up the new fusion (mainly because i'm not as impressed with the design, just really feels neh to me) I made it so Peridot leaked the info, Garnet saw, got so mad she unfused, and while Sapphire is rather calm-ish about it, Ruby just releases the rage so much, the pyrokinetic ends up catching fire to herself XD (cause the info reveals that ruby is a fire elemental and sapphire is an ice elemental) sapphire though knows both will not be happy in the next steve bomb, so she's trying to tell Ruby to save up her rage, since canonically garnet's gonna be pissed off.
I drew this out to take a lil humor from learning the news, cause i was not as impressed with Sardonyx as the rest of the fandom who's making fanarts are, the most i'm happy for though is the fact that we'll see some of Yellow diamond and more of ruby and sapphire, but also we're getting another Jamie centered episode... oh boy....

to be honest i did not share ruby's reaction when i saw what comic-con shown
although my hopes fell when seeing sardonyx (and a lil more when i saw the episode, cannot say i was that impressed with her demeanor) I kinda liked the idea of hearing about ruby and sapphire having another episode and the yellow diamond reveal.

I actually liked her, she had great personality for someone half-Pearl/Garnet. XD

although it was very bubbly and showbusiness like, something about how she acted kinda rubbed off on me in a way that just did not feel as great, she felt a lil full of herself and cocky, like she was being a lil bit of a show off in a way that was a lil much, idk maybe i'm just sympathizing with amethyst too much here.
but i think i noticed something about pearl's fusions
pearl is more abliged and seems more excited to fuse with gems who she looks up to, or sees as stronger than her, like garnet and rose, and shows more of her personality in them, wheras in opal, pearl mostly just focuses on the reason they fuse in the first place and opal really doesn't show a lot

I made a joke with someone else how Pearl just wants someone to love. XD In fact, in one of those, she was jealous of Ruby and Sapphire being lovers, so like maybe Pearl wants something like what they have, to be Fused with someone she really cares for indefinitely.

yea beacause you really don't see her acting out with opal or alexandrite, but rainbow quartz and sardonyx her real personality seems to show.
though i will say that when she does fuse with those two, both times i've seen it, rainbow was formed to try and drive a nail between greg and rose, and sardonyx seemed to try and drive a point into amethyst that she's too reckless (i kinda saw that when sardonyx was hitting the pillars at first, naming off all those synonyms for wrecking something, while giving a point at how refined and accurate she seems to be, which really makes amethyst uncomfortable)
it may just be coincidence, but it feels like when pearl fuses with someone she really likes, her side of the fusion feels a lil overconfident and condescending

yea, pearl has a lot of obsessive qualities, its getting to the point where she even calls steven rose at times.
i'm starting to suspect that pearl may be cracking mentally, like lapis is in malachite form, but unlike lazuli's, pearl's is much slower in progression.

Well, Lapis is going mad because she's trying to control someone, isn't she? Pearl just feels kind of important and much-knowing.

yea, she and jasper are supposedly losing themselves in their struggle for control
i'm honeslty hoping that pearl doesn't go too downhill
cause the last character who did that for me was princess bubblegum from adventure time, and she ended up becomming my least favorite character with how her development went, and i don't want that happening with pearl

well, the thing with pb was that she went from being a sweet princess that finn really liked to someone who was so cold and political, that her own people kicked her out in favor of a new ruler (the "true king of Ooo") at the end of season 6
Pb's also done a lot of despicable things, like spy on her people and neighbors, break into other people's houses, imprison flame princess when she was just an infant, intrudes on other kingdom's affairs cause she thinks they're dangerous (like fire and lemon kingdoms), and even got finn, jake and herself thrown in wizard jail cause of her beliefs....
she developed down a road that made her unlikable really to me.... she kinda turned nasty in some cases too

I don't really mind Sardonyx but I guess her design would have been better for a Jasper/Peridot fusion. Still, the episode was really good and Pearl/Garnet's fusion dance was my favorite part. Cazn't wait for tomorrow's episode! (Ruby burning herself is really funny!)

Out of all the fusions so far Sardonyx is probably my least favorite. Only because I really don't care much for the design.

yea, sardonyx kinda came off on me as a very cocky and fullofherself gem fusion, but that may be just pearl's part in it, who knows. i know she's basically supposed to be like a showbusiness kinda character but still

yea, and watching the episode just now, Sardonyx just felt like a very cocky gem, i know her design is based off someone in showbusiness, but i just could not help but feel like she was a bit of a showoff and very much full of herself (but that probably may be because pearl is rubbing that part in)

I'm more concerned about the fact that Steven has seen Lapis is falling apart mentally and physically as of Chille Tid...
...and he's going on a road trip and hanging out with Onion. This does not strike me as the behavior of a person wracked with worry about a friend.

personally i kinda feel ya there, but i am hoping that if the argument between garnet and pearl continues for more than 2 episodes and lasts the week, that steven might enter the dream realm and make a deal with malachite to attack, have garnet and pearl work together, and as a win win end up freeing lapis and jasper from the fusion, liklihood of happening though is rather slim, but its a hope for me.
cause the ep schedule seems to be
one ep for sardonyx
one ep for ruby and sapphire in the road trip
a jamie centered episode
onion and food
and then a final ep which hopefully will be more serious
