One of the key story points of Nier: Automata is that the androids fighting for humanity begin to notice the invading machines and robots are beginning to act very strange as the game goes on and on. 9S originally considers it just randomness that the robots are picking up from the old world, but more and more the lil robots you encounter start acting more sentient, some even dress up as clowns and others, eh make for a disturbing boss battle....

But it seems 2B, A2, and 9S discover another unusual robot from outer space, this one talks in coherent sentences, is a lot shinier than the other invaders, and seems incredibly depressed. Wait what is Marvin from Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy doing here? Probably just wandering around being all mopey.
