Description Leader of a fearsome gang of Hoodlums and Number 1. Fairy Harasser in and around the Glade of Dreams, Red Riding Hoodlum is one of the most infamous and loathed creatures in and around the land.

Like most Hoodlums, Red Riding Hoodlum (or RRH to shorten the name) was born from a Red Lum after André frightened it to the Transformation point and became a Hoodmonger... yet he was the size of a dwarf, unlike all other Hoodmongers. At first, the Hoodlums didn't really know what to make of this pint-sized walking potato sack, but soon it became clear that he had his uses...
Thanks to his small stature, he was not easily toppled and had less body to get hit by attacks, yet he was also very swift. This especially came in use when it came down to capturing the inhabitants of the Glade, like the Teensies and Ludivs, who were also very small and could hide in places that the bigger Hoodlums could not get into. This way, he could herd them to the exit of their hiding places where a cage that would soon be filled with them awaited...
Yet this didn't always go to plan. Some of the inhabitants were brave enough to fight back, much to the surprise of the Hoodlums. This presented a problem at first, since RRH was one of the few who could enter the small entrances to hiding spots and simply whacking stuff until they stopped moving proved not to be his best strategy, since some of the creatures did the exact same thing to him, often leaving him quite battered.
Thus he started teaching himself to develop his own unique strategy and stray away from being a simple Hoodmonger like most other Hoodlums in the beginning, like the Heckler with their self-made shoulder-mounted toilet cannons and leather armor, and the Hoodloons with their bat-like wings. And since RRH was the only short Hoodmonger, nobody else could successfully copy him.
He began by messing around with stolen weapons, like Hunter pistols, Pirate hooks and trumpets, sometimes combining them into a weapon that did the user more harm than the target as he found out the hard way. But after much experimenting with weapons, he felt himself most comfortable using a big shield and a stick with a Pirate hook tied to it as a rudimentary lance, quickly jabbing and slashing at the foe while he remained safe behind the shield. He also found out he could swing and pull himself up by grabbing holds like branches and support beams and swing on them with the hook of his weapon, after he triumphantly ran out of the training area and held his weapon high, ran under a support beam and suddenly went up in the air, after which he went down backwards and up again and lost his grip, to land in the porridge of an angry Heckler.
And in order to further differentiate himself from the other Hoodlums, he started wearing his infamous red hood into battle. And also out of it.
The next hunt was a great success for RRH, finally having beaten attackers without too much trouble. But another problem presented itself: his prey stayed out of range of his weapon and he was not fast enough to chase and hit them. To go against this problem, RRH started making his weapon longer, just to come across the same problem again, and this process repeated for a while until the spear would be too long to properly use in the confined areas, leading him to hate small spaces since it limited his ability to use the weapon he was most skilled at.
And another problem presented itself: his prey could use the hook of his weapon against him, resulting in it getting stuck leaving him without a weapon. But he solved this by carrying a pistol under his robe at all times, surprising his enemies when they got too close or too far away, and since he was naturally skilled with being a Hoodmonger, his aim was quite steady.
Despite the earlier mentioned problem with the spear's range, RRH proved to be a unique and very dangerous Hoodlum in the end, up to André's defeat. And he would only become even more dangerous after that...
After the fall of André and becoming a Red Lum once more, one day he was captured by a magic-using Mini-Jano known as Hysh'nak, who was collecting Red Lums at the time to fuel a powerful evil spell of his with the intent to bind a powerful Nightmare to his will.
When Hysh'nak travelled to a mysterious temple and commenced the ritual, the sheer evil energies that were released in the spell infused the drained Red Lums, causing them to become Black Lums and finally Hoodlums once more after the ritual had been finished and they escaped.
He started practicing his old tricks again after joining a gang of Hoodlums in the Dream Forest that were created alongside him in the ritual and were led by a very strong Hoodmonger Officer, yet he did not want to go into small places again since it limited his fighting capabilities. Much to his dismay, he always had to do this.
At one point when the gang was ransacking a village, a Fairy from another town appeared to repel the attack. Underestimating what she could be capable of, the Hoodlums attacked her without seeking safe spaces. Understanding that she was a big threat, the Hoodmonger Officer directed all of his forces against her. The Fairy probably would not have won if it weren't for the villagers helping her by distracting the Hoodlums.
Yet RRH refused to get distracted and directly challenged her amidst the fighting of the others, making the most use out of all of his skills. The fight went on for quite long, and RRH started to grow weary after the Fairy kept avoiding his spear and could only rely on his gun to damage her, all the while while she didn't even hold a weapon and exhausting him using her filthy Fairy magic. He was simply not fast enough to hit her with his weapon whilst doing enough damage, with only one hand.
Thus he threw his shield away and started attacking by holding the spear with both of his hands. This proved more effective, but left him much more open for attack which the Fairy used to her advantage. She managed to wound his left arm, making him unable to hold his weapons nor his shield. Then she wounded his right arm too, though not as bad as his left arm.
RRH would have ended up being a weak Black Lum and possibly even a Red Lum once again, were it not for the Officer attacking the Fairy from behind, giving RRH a chance to escape.
Not much is known about what happened after that, except that the gang of Hoodlums were defeated and the village was saved. RRH was not seen from again, and the Black Lum and Hoodlum sightings dropped. Everybody thought that it was the doing of Rayman and other heroes (though some 'heroes' aren't really that, thugs or cowardly treasure hunters would be more accurate) of the Glade.
But in that while, RRH had not been dawdling around. He appeared again from the forests riding a Bonton and carrying a mysterious lance and new armor covering his left side and arm, leading a newly-gathered host of Hoodlums under his banner with never before-seen weapons, like stinking toilet mortars, greasy gatling blenders and spring-loaded launchpadapults to a town protected by the same Fairy who had nearly defeated him. Striding atop of his mount, he charged from the middle of the host to the very front straight at the Fairy's house, trampling and slashing away everybody in his way.
Finally confronting her, he wasted not time to let her prepared and immediately lunged at her. She dodged the attack and ran away whilst shooting magic bolts at him, too surprised and intimidated by him to fight him straight on.
Quickly turning around to repel the bolts with his shield, he charged at her again this time with the crooked end of the lance to pull her feet from under her, toppling her and hitting her head on the floor.
But the Fairy quickly regained her composure and shot a beam of fire straight at RRH. It was a quick shot and since he did not have a lot of wiggle room on his saddle, he either had to get hit or strafe to the side. What she did not expact him to do, was using his polearm to pole-vault over the magical projectile while the Bonton still charged, leaving her surprised and open to attack: or in this case, a boot to the face and a nasty bash to the wall... leaving her defeated and the village pretty much defenseless.
Red Riding Hoodlum had won and the village was enslaved, with the fairy being placed in special custody and weakened by a Hoodoo spell. From this point on, he would leave his mark on the Glade and around it, conquering quite a few villages both in and outside the Glade and setting up many outposts in which to take refuge, quite often an expanded and Hoodlumized house of a Fairy with a few buildings around it. He can often be found hunting and challenging Fairies by himself only accompanied by a few other Hoodlums in case things do go wrong for him, which isn't often. Yet he always prefers to challenge them one on one.
He currently has set his eyes upon one of the most beautiful Fairy houses in the Glade located on a hard-to-reach location for his host. The house is currently owned by a rather protective and strict Fairy with great prowess over wind and fire, and is sometimes accompanied by a Hunter and two rather cowardly Livingstones. Up to this point, without success. Although Red Riding Hoodlum was nice enough to send her a warning since he admired her good taste in houses.

As stated before, Red Riding Hoodlum's skill with the polearm is uncanny. He is capable of swinging it around rather quickly, but he doesn't run quite fast himself. That is why he is riding a Bonton, a normally quite lazy yet strong and fast creature that for some reason or another responds to his every command and does exactly what RRH wants him to, making him much faster and more mobile. He also manages to think outside the box with his lance, from grabbing an adversary by the neck with the crooked end to (also as stated before) using it to polevault. He is undoubtedly the most creative Hoodlum yet when it comes down to a single weapon, this being the biggest factor for his infamy.
He is never seen without his Bonton, always riding around on it to ward of potential attacks or fight as effectively as possible whenever such situations arise. Red Riding Hoodlum has been seated on the animal for so long, that their every action looks like they are one being.
Because he is always riding the Bonton and refuses to ever step off for long, his gang's Outposts tend to be rather spacey with wide areas and broad elevators, to make navigating on such a big animal easier for him. The medium and big outposts are also rarely without an Arena, so that the Hoodlums can train against each other and experiment with what strategies work best for them, rather than directly being assigned a position and having to get used to it. He believes this being the key to success for conquering the Glade, though the organization in an army with such a philosophy can be a bit messy, together with the numerous explosions that come with the experimentation. He tries his best to reduce the mess as much as possible, though, and when the Hoodlums revert to their Black Lum form, they can always come back. Thanks to this philosophy, he is held in high regard by all members of his gang.
Red Riding Hoodlum is always on the lookout for Hoodoo sorcerers and Hoodlums that are very effective against Fairies, since he knows how much of a pain they can be.
