Description
Name: Nothosaurus mirabilisDiet: Piscivore
Range: Eurasia
Time stage: Triassic (Anisian)
Description: Nothosaurus ("false lizard", from the Ancient Greek nothos (νόθος), "illegitimate", and sauros (σαῦρος), "lizard") is an extinct genus of sauropterygian reptile from the Triassic period, approximately 240-210 million years ago, with fossils being distributed from North Africa and Europe to China. It is the best known member of the nothosaur order.
A complete skeleton of the species Nothosaurus raabi, now a synonym of N. marchicus, can be seen in the Natural History Museum in Berlin.
Inaccuracies: none
It is one of the scraped animals, so the coloration isn't official. I based it on an eel.
If any inaccuracy turns up, I wouldn't be surprised since I'm not too familiar with Triassic life. But you're more than welcome to point out the inaccuracies/inaccuracy.

Ever since SM3DW, this species has been my most favorite prehistoric reptile.
Wish it was more well known. Lots of people mistake them as a dinosaur as with Plesiosaurs.

Sad that they ultimately didn't feature more of the creatures which appeared during the Triassic, especially considering how they featured a short on a pterosaur mother and on a Tylosaurus giving birth.
Still, nice work

I use to think it was an ancestor of plesiosaurs with a bit of similarity but if it's not why can't anyone show the true ancestors of plesiosaurs on TV?
