Description: The saber-toothed cat, or Smilodon is a genus of machairodontine cats from the Pleistocene epoch. Compared to pantherines, the saber-toothed cat just like other machairodonts had longer noses and slimmer faces with large fangs. Their heads were small in proportion to their body, with a longer neck and bigger muscular arms. Their tails were also fairly short as they did not require them in counter-balancing while running unlike the pantherines which did. the Saber-toothed cats hunted differently from extant cats such as Lions (Panthera leo). They ambushed their predators and used their muscular arms to land them down, and finally using their saber-teeth to puncture the windpipe and arteries in the neck of their prey. They used a combination of blood loss and suffocation to kill their prey.
Their saberteeth were fragile and could break if subjected to extreme lateral force.
In the Picture: the Saber-toothed cats hunted differently from extant cats such as Lions (Panthera leo). They ambushed their predators and used their muscular arms to land them down, and finally using their saber-teeth to puncture the windpipe and arteries in the neck of their prey. They used a combination of blood loss and suffocation to kill their prey. However this one individual decided to try a different method and suffered the consequences as its thin knife-like teeth ended up broken from the strong lateral force.

That is very painful, just thinking about it makes me cringe. Not because the art is bad, because the idea of having both of my canines be massively chipped off like that it’s just kind of uncomfortable of a thought

I know, right? Reptiles, including Archosaurs, get to regrow their teeth.
When a Crocodilian loses a tooth, all their have to do is replace it by regrowing it.
And it's not just the Reptiles with the luxury of spare teeth; shark also regrow teeth.

Might be able to change that with CRISPR technology when it advances far enough
Insert the gene for tooth regrowth into humans and boom, people regrow teeth

Might not be a hot idea to inject shark or reptile DNA into humans. Side-Effects may occur.

if anything you'll be prone to ingrown and abscessed teeth than want to kill people

Only a few species of reptiles can actually regrow limbs
Many only just can regrow their tail
However there are amphibians that can regrow lost limbs and body parts
