Some of them are dead. It's the national park so dead trees are not removed but left as they are. I don't really know whats with those particular ones.

Oh, I am definitely against.... removing them. Ecology has pointed out the vital role of dead trees in any given forest. But I ask because there's so many of them.... it looks to me like they have succumbed to a disease or perhaps some unfavorable change of local micro climate.... I've seen such things happen here, a few years back in the nearby mountain there was a huge bark beetle infestation in the old spruce forests that devastated enormous areas protected woodland. It happened due to small raise of annual temperatures.... if I remember correctly.

Fortunately the park authorities have done their homework on how a forest ecosystem works

Eh.... that's good. Our park and "eco" authorities are total idiots.

These are some of my favorite photographs from you of all time. And my absolute favorite one is the one at the very bottom. The greenery and pines, and the way the dark branches all point to the moon, it's very magical, like a gateway to an unknown dream world.

How close were you to the doe?

It's actually male deer. Just with new pair of antlers that just started to grow. It was very close, several meters.

Oh, no! I can't tell the boys from the girls any more. I'm doomed!

The deer must live in a safe area, then, where hunting is banned.

Well, these locations aren't exactly close to where I live (here are mostly hills and fields and some small forests) but I can agree that Polish landscapes and nature here is beautiful.Β
