Description
According to the narrator, much more complex than the Fighting Machine. it was characterized by countless extendable tentacles and arms. They were piloted by the by Martians (Martian (Invader) ) who were visible via open cockpitLike with other machines I based my design aesthetically on bones, namely ribcage and woven bone histological structure.
I also think that this organic bone-like aesthetics makes sense lore-wise. These machines weren't built in factories where everything would be symmetrical and neat. All this stuff was forged and assembled by the Martians in the field, in particular in quite hard environmental conditions (for them) So this stuff would be by definition very rough and made only to function, not to look appealing.

I love how intricately biomechanical your take on the handling-machine is! It could almost be mistaken for a living being except for the smoke and the glitter of the metal! (and also the Martian in the open cockpit) I think this has really nailed what Wells was going for when describing the handling-machine.

I am way better at drawing organic stuff so my vehicles and machines often resemble actual bugs.

I'd be interested to see what these same Martians would construct with pieces from arthropods. I wonder if they would be a lighter machine for in-and-out operative missions while still literally having "the protective shell."
And, as always, your work is splendid.

I think that arthropod and bug like Martian machines are more popular than my bone-like design thanks!

Interesting. The explanation for the slightly ramshackle nature of the machine is really cool.

Haha, even with such simple, nearly archetypal concepts, you manage to do SOMETHING creative with them. Your imagination never ceases to amaze me. The crudeness of these machines is a perfect logical twist which I can never unsee now.

They look like Power Rangers. That'd be so boring to draw. XD
