“BLOODY BIRDS!!”
Nimh’s voice echoed around the Nest, an outburst that all those mingling in the area had become accustomed to throughout the day.
The Warmaiden had woken to the sounds of a pair of ravens squabbling above the entrance of her den, sending stray raven feathers everywhere and positively littering the ground with them, and her day had not gotten any less infuriating from there.
It seemed that every raven in Vektren had taken it upon themselves to pester Nimh specifically, dogging her every step.
Her meals were had with a constant entourage of black-feathered annoyances.
The patrolling she had done was interrupted constantly by the squawking of the birds, and more than once she’d ended up with a stray feather being dropped in her face, which only served to further sour her mood.
And now she was laying in her usual spot above the Nest, watching the goings-on idly, when more of the blasted creatures had chosen this moment to test their luck by creeping close enough to grab a beakful of fur from her tail and pull, resulting in an infuriated wolf’s teeth snapping closed on thin air as they nimbly hopped out of danger’s range, only to do it again the second her attention was away from the birds.
With a growl she got up and began hopping down the steep slope, giving up entirely on finding any peace from the damned creatures. A couple of braver Vektreni inquired after her as she passed, asking if there were anything she needed help with, only to receive an angry growl of their own as she scowled.
“Unless you can rid me of all the ravens in Vektren and grant me five minutes damned PEACE, then no.”
The Warchief continued on her way, the shadows of a couple of ravens gliding over the ground behind her signalling that they were not done with her yet.
Very strange, for ravens to choose to target one wolf specifically like this...
