Didn't know how to title this XD was going to be "underdogs" but then I was all meh! -change- =w=;
Anyways, besides the fact I've noticed a lot of people dislike these two pokemon the larger one being #539 Sawk and the smaller one #501 Oshawott, I agree, I'm wasn't a fan of them XD....at first.
I picked the Oshawott as my starter pokemon cause my friend was getting Tepig, didn't want to get the same pokemon so we could fill up our dex faster pretty much. I named my Oshawott Oden....after awhile of playing I caught me a Sawk, and kept him in my party mostly to the fact he's gotten me through most of my gym badges so far XD....I named him Koden, then I realized later that Oden and Koden have the same name almost XD just Koden has a K infront of it...so I was like...."know what, they are best friends" done.
XD Someday I might have Oden evolve but for right now -forces him not to evolve- >:c

Yay, cute! I don't get the people who don't like Oshawott. Once mine got Razor Shell, she was a total badass. I would never remove either of these two from my team.

I've gotta say...I LOVE this picture. I too started out with Oshawott. I almost always chose water- it's how I roll....
Well, when I came across my Sawk I only caught him because the last one I encountered kicked my tail. I figured 'Hey, he cant be that bad right?'..............I fell in Pokelove. He never once left my party, got me through ALL my gym badges and when it was time for the elite four I was DETERMINED to see if I could win using only him............yup. it took way more status restores than I can mention, but he did it.
My only regret is that when I caught him I thought 'I probably wont use him much' and I never gave him a nickname. He so deserves it.
*takes a deep breath* Kind of weird...I've never gotten overly emotional about pokemon aside from my Sawk, and my Darkrai. 
Also- This picture is just FANTASTIC. IT only took 2 hours!? I'm so jealous.

I did the same. I started with Oshawott, always have chosen water starters. The first Sawk I came across absolutely REFUSED to get in a pokeball. I used every single ball I had, and he wouldn't come. I had to knock him out. But then the next one I came across (after restocking on pokeballs) was willing to join the team. I absolutely love him. I think only he and my Samurott are safe from being replaced on the team. The fact that he helped power me through several gyms while being underleveled makes him a BA in my opinion.

haha, oddly enough I got my Sawk on the first try, I saw him at the first nurse you encounter in the game I think O3o;; he really wanted to be mine and no other Sawk haha XD
yeeah, my Sawk is my main Pokemon I've been using so far, he's been training with all my other party pokemon ^^ and he won all the gym badges too.
Ah...I was going to try and have him fight with the elites, but I cant stand him dying so much, so I going to have him train my back up part before i face off with the elites. Least I'll have something to do once classes for me start up again.
awww,yeah this game I'm making it a mission to nickname every single pokemon I catch that isn't a double ^^...I never nicknamed my pokemon before in past games. I'm guessing they dont have a nickname guy in this game like the use to in the old ones? =c I haven't beat the game yet cause I keep putting it off like a doof, so I wouldn't know.
yes breath XD haha. Yeah, these pokemon this time around I think rock ^^ I dont get why more people dont love all over a sawk and other unloved pokemon. -shrug- just because they arent fluffy like a pikachu with cute smooshy faces doesn't mean they aren't wonderfully cute in their own way.

Actually, I finally found the name rater dude!!! He's in the huge city with the boats. (casti-blah who?) It took me FOREVER to find that dude by myself....So when I made it I finally named my Sawk. He deserved it more than I can express without sounding like a weirdo. His name? Quest. He fought far more than any pokemon ever deserved.
About catching Sawk: I hadn't seen one at all till I got up to that stone that they are meant to punch. The first one I saw was just like *BAM* lose. =.= Then the second was a fight... but I wouldn't trade him for the world, and I've NEVER once put him in storage. LOL
I did not like seeing him faint so much during battle but we were both determined to make it. Thankfully by that point he had developed Study so he fainted less than he would have... He was also a level 90 something by that point. That helped- a lot.
Now Quest and I are trying to do the post-game stuff and he pretty much hates his teammates ((I kind of RP in my head while I play pokemon....)) since I changed them out to train other pokemon.
As for nicknames, I told myself that I would release any pokemon I didn't have the deep urge to keep so I didn't nickname anyone aside from my Oshawott.
As far as games go, I enjoyed Pearl a bit better but love Black.
Side note: I see you too like Ponies. HOORAY

not sure I know where that is, but interesting story about you and Quest. I enjoyed reading this. but oh my goodness, he's lvl 90, mine's hardly lvl 60 yet XD I'm so behind in training. yeaah, I rp in my head too alittle, reason why I draw mine, but still need to draw my whole team I use the post...someday.

Quest is a LV 90 (92 now) because all I did for days was train him! I had a lot of spare time a few days ago...
Rping is something I do at least four times a week since I was 12...I'm 26 now. o_o; I kind of thought college would give me a life...nah. And of course it's starting again soon for me. This coming semester I know will be crazy. *refrains from ranting*
I haven't seen ANY of the new pokemon episodes...I'm kind of worried it will screw up how I feel about my team.

I've seen one ep. of the new pokemon shows, and now I think they stopped showing it on cartoon network, or I just keep missing the day -shrug- but I dont see how it would screw up how you feel about your team though, since all pokemon are different in personality o3o;

I kind of think that RPing would only help your English skills (which are not bad at all)!! Also, you might be surprised. Some RP partners could inspire you to write again. I used to RP with a bunch of people but I found that my style wasn't overly compatible so lately I've stuck to RPing with my best friend. She and I have had the same RP going for two years now. I can't get her to RP pokemon though XD Yaoi twincest? Pssssh sure. But not pokemon.
This semester I'm actually moving to a new school in a new state (I'll be moving to UAB)) but for the spring term I'll be doing a lot of psychology classes, humanities, and anthropology. What about you?
