Description
For a while now, I've wanted to create an African wild dog character and I'm pretty happy with the way her design came out. African wild dogs (also known as painted dogs) are beautiful, unique animals and are great hunters. It's awful that there are so few of them left in the wild. Personally, I find the appearance and colour of their coats to be very inspiring. Even though her fur pattern is complex, I really enjoyed painting every spot. Helped me to get out of the art block I've found myself in. :3 In case you were wondering, Nzuri does not have dewclaws on her forelegs. The lack of dewclaws is a feature that sets African wild dogs apart from other canines. I'm coming up with a background story for her now.
NZURI
African Wild Dog
Female
Young Adult
Personality:
Nzuri is usually quiet and prefers to express her thoughts and feelings through her actions rather than words. While she may not be talkative,
she still enjoys being around others. She is warm and welcoming, and always ready to make friends with anyone. Being very sensitive to what
others are feeling makes her good at understanding and supporting those that she cares about. She is very accepting of others' differences, and while
she will usually accept a submissive role in a group and go out of her way to avoid conflict, she sometimes loses her temper when it comes to dealing
with less tolerant individuals that won't keep the peace. Nzuri lives in the present moment, choosing to put her focus on what's good now, rather
than think about the bad things that have happened in the past or thinking about troubles the future may bring. However, because of her tendency
to live in the present, she is not the best at making plans for the future. Instead, she relies on making spontaneous decisions in the moment.

It's so weird! I've been beating around the idea of an African wild dog character for a while myself, also because of their beautiful coat pattern. I had inspiration from an episdeo of QI recently, but now I really want to draw our painted beauties together haha Love the design kinnie

Of course, QI! XD Can't believe you were going to make an african wild doge, too haha. That would be amazing, drawing them together. I'd love to paint something of them, as well. And thanks!
