Yea I'm just starting out with chainmail so I'm no where near good enough to start experimenting. Its always best to learn all the basics first before changing it into something custom.

i've taught myself the whole way so every step has been an experiment. i should go back and learn some more of the basics though. it is always good to have a strong base.

i taught myself how to do it so it just takes patience and supplies really. ^-^

really long straps are attached at the top and go across the back and loop through the bottom of the top and tie in the back. kinda like a corset lacing.
