The Breakdown story is about as old as the Gathalia story, so who did I go to for my character designs? Of course it was BBMBBF. He handled all my character work at the time, and when I told him I was going to start a story focused on spanking... he began to hate me. Okay, not really, but he was not a fan of spanking in any way and while he was always professional, I could tell I was getting on his nerves. It worked out though, because Johnny was meant to be a sarcastic character with a short fuse and even less patience. I also wanted him to be that guy that didn't have any special powers and just bulled his way through situation with grit and will power. Hence the blue jeans and hoodie look. He was definitely far too modern looking for the story though, he needed something fantasy about him though. I had recently just discovered the greatest anime of all time Berserk at this point, so I knew exactly what he needed...
