This is going to be exploited and that makes me so sad. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is MY story! It's my favorite after the Wizard of Oz. ;~; It made me both happy and sad when I saw the poster in the movie theater. I've known about it since Y2K... u__u I know I'm counting my chickens before they hatch but I just feel what is coming. I know it's going to be exploited... but that's the movies for you, aye? -sighs- If you think I'm saying this because Jonny Depp is playing Willy Wonka, you couldn't be further from the truth. I love Jonny Depp. Ever since Edward Scissor Hands I have watched his movies. He's not just a Hollywood pretty boy, he doesn't WANT to be one. He was just... exploited. o__o; So you can see my concern. One of my favorite actors and one of my favorite stories... I don't want them to be ruined for me. ;~; - I can't wait for the movie to come out though. I've been waiting for it for 4 years now, I'll enjoy it while the fun lasts. n___n;Related content

I still have yet to see Edward Scissorhands, I've only seen bits of it. I fell in love with Johnny Depp when I saw Pirates of the Carribean. I would see this movie even if he wasn't in it. I really liked the original, and I enjoyed the book, so I'm glad it's staying closer to the true story. I've faving this poster, it has hotnezz written all over it x3

Ooh, I was wondering when this film would be coming out! I heard about it a while ago from a local paper, the film makers were thinking of filming it at a chocolate factory in my city, Rowntree's me thinks. Which would mean Johnny being in stalking distance >D But then they announced that the film makers chose a different place -weeps- ;-;

Whenever I watch a movie that has been taken from a book I love, I look at it like, 'Well, that's someone else's interpretation'.
I read a few interviews (I haven't known about this quite as long as you have, but I've known about it for a long time XD) and Burton said he was looking to stay close to the book, it's original intent and Dahl's twisted sense of humour. Unlike the other movie 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory', which couldn't even keep to the same title.

I don't watch movies for acters, I watch them for the movie. Most movies are forgotten and unwatched because everyone else is fawning over actors instead of the movie. Grrr

I absolutley adore Tim Burton..and no one can deny Johnny is gorgeous. But Charlie and The Chocolate Factory is my 'sick movie' that I always watch when I'm in bed with a fever. It just cheers me up cause it's so great. I completley understand what you mean. I have high hopes for the movie and will be so depressed if it's awful

I don't doubt it will be good. I just don't want it to be exploited. But I pray it is good so the new version can make you happy when your sick as did the old one. n_n

Yeah, I really like Tim Burton to. Nightmare before Christmas was excilent, I'm glad he was the director of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. But I heard it was going to be a "scary" movie, but that is simply a rummor.
